1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / rapidly shrinking fabric width on: November 03, 2010 01:06:32 PM
Am I now just noticing it or is it just happening?Huh  It used to be that all fabric (not home decor) was usually 44-45 inches wide....now, it can be 42, 43 maybe 44....I have a lot of patterns that were based on the usual width, that now you have to buy extra fabric to make work.  Where is the outcry?  the marching in the streets?  What a racket this is!!!!!  All these companies making things smaller and smaller to get an extra buck?  ok rant over...
2  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Another tree quilt on: February 17, 2009 07:18:23 AM
I saw this pattern here http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=95757.0 and had to try it...so I tracked down the pattern and this is my first try at machine applique; I gave it to my son for Christmas.

Its kind of hard to see the stitching but I used clear thread for all the parts around the tree and it was also my first free motion....I'm definitely making more...I love this tree. Smiley

4  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Pieced Roman Shades-with pics on: June 16, 2008 09:21:19 AM
Not sure if this is the place or not and I may add a link in the home decor section cause these are very cool.  This was the third "quilt" or quilt top I made when I began quilting.  I found the book in the library and here is the website http://www.terrelldesigns.com/ I have a beachy theme in my bathroom so that's what I did my shade in. I probably made this about a year ago.  Here is a link of the pictures of my shade that Terrell put on her website.  http://www.terrelldesigns.com/galleries-readerstrulyart-chudson.htm
What do you think?

6  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / My First Quilts on: May 16, 2008 06:17:56 PM
Ok, I have been posting here and there on this forum and never put up any of my projects except for my first poppet.  I have come to love it here and thought it was time to share.  I have been quilting for about a year and a half.........my granddaughter is 18 months old.......coinciden ce?  Anyway, here are the first three baby quilts I made and here is the pattern I was given to follow.  http://quiltmaker.com/patterns/patt230.pdf  I love the fabrics because they are not baby fabrics per se but still pretty cool.  If I had tried anything harder I don't think I would still be quilting and sewing like I am.  I also used this time and hobby to help me quit smoking and haven't smoked since 2/07.  So here they are and I will post more projects that I have made in the near future.  Fortunately, I was told by my dear friend who started me on this path to take pictures of everything I have made.  So tell me what you think.......

Unfortunately they didn't have enough of the yellow star fabric and I had to get something else but I still like them anyway...
