1  Another tree quilt in Quilting: Completed Projects by cynfll on: February 17, 2009 07:18:23 AM
I saw this pattern here http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=95757.0 and had to try it...so I tracked down the pattern and this is my first try at machine applique; I gave it to my son for Christmas.

Its kind of hard to see the stitching but I used clear thread for all the parts around the tree and it was also my first free motion....I'm definitely making more...I love this tree. Smiley

3  Pieced Roman Shades-with pics in Quilting: Completed Projects by cynfll on: June 16, 2008 09:21:19 AM
Not sure if this is the place or not and I may add a link in the home decor section cause these are very cool.  This was the third "quilt" or quilt top I made when I began quilting.  I found the book in the library and here is the website http://www.terrelldesigns.com/ I have a beachy theme in my bathroom so that's what I did my shade in. I probably made this about a year ago.  Here is a link of the pictures of my shade that Terrell put on her website.  http://www.terrelldesigns.com/galleries-readerstrulyart-chudson.htm
What do you think?

4  Re: The Long Awaited Poppet-Along in Craftalongs by cynfll on: June 12, 2008 04:41:01 PM
Ok, I have waited for like a month trying to get a picture of my first poppet with her mommy in matching dresses to no avail.  I had made my granddaughter a "cheytown" dress, from the clothing section and made a matching one for her poppet...anyway here she is.......maybe I can get a pic with both of them together but hey she's only 18 months (the granddaughter) so we shall see....what do you think?  Oh, I haven't given her a name yet and my granddaughter's name is Rylee..........any suggestions?

7  My First Quilts in Quilting: Completed Projects by cynfll on: May 16, 2008 06:17:56 PM
Ok, I have been posting here and there on this forum and never put up any of my projects except for my first poppet.  I have come to love it here and thought it was time to share.  I have been quilting for about a year and a half.........my granddaughter is 18 months old.......coinciden ce?  Anyway, here are the first three baby quilts I made and here is the pattern I was given to follow.  http://quiltmaker.com/patterns/patt230.pdf  I love the fabrics because they are not baby fabrics per se but still pretty cool.  If I had tried anything harder I don't think I would still be quilting and sewing like I am.  I also used this time and hobby to help me quit smoking and haven't smoked since 2/07.  So here they are and I will post more projects that I have made in the near future.  Fortunately, I was told by my dear friend who started me on this path to take pictures of everything I have made.  So tell me what you think.......

Unfortunately they didn't have enough of the yellow star fabric and I had to get something else but I still like them anyway...

8  Re: The Long Awaited Poppet-Along - Here is my first poppet in Craftalongs by cynfll on: April 06, 2008 04:38:05 PM
I am new to this website but Ghilie and Nezbutt have been helping me immensely already....although I haven't tried the poppet with "woman" bits yet, here is my first one that my granddaughter kept kissing and pointing to her eyes.  Tell me what you think, she still needs hair (which I am working on as we speak) there is a prototype hanging off her head in the picture.  And of course she needs some clothes.....thanks to all of the posts and tips and help to be found here.  I love this website and although I haven't become a friend yet (due to monetary crap) I plan to do so within the next month...

I hope this works............I have to say, I honestly never even thought of trying to make something like this, I have been quilting for about a year and a half but I have had a great time and have three more that I want to do.  Thanks again Ghilie!!!
