1  A simple headband in Knitting: Completed Projects by fashionzombie on: March 29, 2009 02:02:52 PM
I've been working on an endless stockinette project lately, and I needed something to take the edge off. This happened to work perfectly--the Basketweave Headband. The pattern's on Ravelry and here--http://carissaknits.blogspot.com/2007/06/basketweave-headband.html

I really like the colors in the yarn! Looks like mint chocolate chip ice cream.

Thanks for looking! Smiley

3  First t-shirt recon! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by fashionzombie on: October 08, 2008 07:03:54 AM
So, here's the story:
Tomorrow I'm going to a Streetlight Manifesto show, and I couldn't think of any shirt I had that was really punk enough to wear--furthermore, all my ska-band shirts are huge on me. So I took one of my ratty Aquabats shirts, cut off the sleeves, cut up the sides, and sewed it back together in a form-fitting fashion. It took two days to finish, and while the stitching LOOKS really bad (i'm a knitter by trade), it's pretty strong! I tried skanking in it and had to reinforce the 'pit seams. But yay, I recon'd something, and I like it a lot  Smiley

After photos (i forgot to take "before" ones :O)
In the bathroom of my dorm, 'cause I'm cool like that:

in my friend's messy room....

obligatory "awkward shot"

4  What's this stitch?! in Crochet: Discussion and Questions by fashionzombie on: June 14, 2008 07:42:55 AM
Hi crocheters...I'm a knitter. OMG DON'T ATTACK ME
But I've been dabbling in crochet (really, really dabbling--just swatches) for a few months. Last night I started hooking again, because I've had a weird interest in it lately, and I realized I have no idea what stitch I'm using.
It looks like this:

One of my friends taught me how to do the stitch but never told me the name. It's like...you have a stitch on the hook already. You spear one, loop, pull one over, loop, pull two over, and start again.

Thanks--I'm such a crochet n00b. :]

5  Re: Star Trek R3 Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by fashionzombie on: June 02, 2008 07:28:09 AM
Oh my goodness, I recieved from laminathegreat, and DANG is the haul awesome! Pic heavy post right here.

Firstly! A RAD denim knitting bag!

Closeup of decal:

"T'Pol Says: Earth boys think knitting is hot." =D

Then, a fabulous Enterprise-styled needle roll!

Inside were some adorable stitch markers. I especially love the little moons.

And then, by far the AWESOMEST part...Enterprise-theme handspun yarn!!!

Just gorgeous...There's bits of red, yellow and blue about it. I can see this being a hardcore hat for those comet-like winters in NJ. (well, not exactly comet-like...but cold, at least. :])

The whole haul all together (along with some cute Trip Tucker pics):

Aaaaaaagh! Thank you SO much, laminathegreat! Now, off to continue crafting and watching Enterprise...;]

6  Yo Gabba Gabba Muno stuffie! in Knitting: Completed Projects by fashionzombie on: May 03, 2008 03:57:57 PM
I'm a big fan of YGG, so here's Muno!! He was super annoying to sew up. Lots of ends to weave in. But now he's red and smiley and brightens up the room.
I used Wool-Ease Jiffy.

Comments appreciated! :]

7  Aquabats accessories! Super rad! in Knitting: Completed Projects by fashionzombie on: March 29, 2008 06:45:38 PM
I'm a gigantic Aquabats fan. Like, amazingly so. When I first started loving the band (january), I made this hat in Charge!! colors:

Then I learned they were coming to NYC for a show in February. So, naturally, I had to make Charge!! gloves.

thanks for viewing--you're super rad. comments appreciated!

8  Macaroni the Worm! in Knitting: Completed Projects by fashionzombie on: March 29, 2008 09:36:59 AM
This is Macaroni.

Macaroni likes flowers.

A lot.

I think he's pretty cute. He's my first big DPN project--size 8 needles, with Lion Brand Homespun. I started him on Easter and finished him that Wednesday. He's got beans in his head and the rest of him is polyfil.
Should I make him a sister called Macarena?  Cheesy
