Hey everyone! Sorry we didn't post our dotee process sooner, but we were out of the city for a few days helping family with a yard sale. We really wanted to do a series of dotees using a mix of materials. The arms & legs were wooden dowels cut, painted, & glittered. To create the bodies we strung beads, sequins, & found objects onto wire & wound them into a 'ball'. We placed a small bird in the center of each dotee to represent a free-spirited soul. The eyes were drawn & coloured by hand, glued to colour-aid paper & laminated.

Unlike Martha Stewart, we do not have a laminating machine in our craft room so we had to bring the eyes into a printshop...& that is were things went disastrously wrong! Instead of placing the eyes spread apart, they were placed way too close & were laminated overlapping each other making them unable to be cut out!!! This was the Monday of send-outs & since we planned to attach the eyes & send by days end we were screwed! Thanx to our partners for being so patient while we remade our dotee heads & we are so glad you all enjoyed them!!!

Here is the "creative" dotee we received from Smmarrt!!! We love that the 'person' is upside-down because one of us (G.) spends a lot of time upside-down doing pole dance! Thanx so much Smmarrt!!!

Almost finished with this round. We have one missing person in Group 5 but since we were a group of 5, always and I have voted to just shine it on. Alterna and Destined - what do you think?

We're fine with moving on with things. We received 3 wonderful dotees & we are happy with that!

Smmart--did Destined to fail post the dotee you sent them?  I was wondering if you did a theme with our group...

OMG!!! Finally had a chance to check in as things have finally calmed down a bit here (apparently we have lives we weren't aware of) & planned to comment on all the dotees, but we would just be typing "amazing" a 1000 times!!! Everyone really thought out-of-the-box & came up with some incredibly creative designs! So many different body shapes & materials; WOW!

Also, can't believe that AlternaWidget received already!!! Really glad you like it! As soon as everyone of our partners receives we will tell all of you about the disaster that prolonged our sending.

...& a round 10 already!!! Dotees non-stop! Can't wait for our last 2 to arrive!!!

Hey, everyone! Sorry we've been a bit absent from the threads, but we have been so busy this week (1 of us started a new job & 1 is preparing for a dance performance on Friday). Our dotees are ready to go tonight or tomorrow after we finish the last of the repairs. We were ready to send Monday, but had given our dolls to a 3rd party so they could do something to them (something that we could not do ourselves at home) & they destroyed a major part of all our dolls!!! All of our partners will be informed as soon as we send.

Today we received an awesome dotee from AlternaWidget!!!

We think that she is just beautiful & is made with great craftsmanship! AlternaWidget also sent us each a delicious Pretzel Crunch bar which we ate immediately!!! Sweet things don't last long in this house!
