1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Cinnamon Star Ornaments - are in the oven! on: December 01, 2011 01:12:43 PM
Perhaps the temperature is too high?
The dehydrator goes to 135 degrees at it's highest, so it really just dries them out rather than bakes them.

I made these for an ornament swap in 2007; dried in the dehydrator, they still smell good.
The applesauce/cinnamon shapes in the middle of the wreaths are about an inch. The designs are puff paint.

So cute!
The red one looks almost like velvet.
Wish I could find those cut outs.

Cute train engine!
these are cute, this little boy was selling similar things, they were sleighs made of candy canes, with a pack of gum in the middle to hold them together and Rolos and kisses to be Santa and the bag of goodies, he was selling them to raise money to buy his family presents, so of course we bought one Smiley
Do you have a photo?
I have a grandson beginning to be interested in crafting.
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Christmas Gift Giving Questions on: December 09, 2010 08:18:20 AM
I have a rough idea of the total I want to spend around Christmas.
I don't make sure each person costs the same, just that s/he gets a present they want.
Of course, I wouldn't buy one person a computer and another a 5 pound bag of apples... LOL

I should imagine most of us buy our own stocking fillers for the most part, Mrs_P.
I buy some of my own presents, too. (To be fair, hubby does as well; he's always handing me something and saying 'You can give me that for Christmas' LOL)

The closest thing I can find is this one. Photo on post # 12.

8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Great, Quick last minute Chocolate Cherry Gift Mice (complete w/ photos) on: December 06, 2010 05:45:59 PM
Perhaps use a candy cane as the snap bar?

I recently saw mice with a regular chocolate chip as the head, instead of the Hershey Kiss. Just as cute.
9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Interesting gift wrappings on: December 05, 2010 11:50:54 AM
I've never seen the bags, but I love wrapping some gifts in newspaper every year.
We used to do that as children with the Sunday funnies for other kids, the sports pages for male relatives, etc.

The cinnamon sticks must make it smell so good...

This is lovely.
Very appropriate for a nature holiday.
