1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Here Fishie Fishie! on: September 22, 2010 08:46:02 AM
This is a slightly modified Guppie Hat, itself a modification of the infamous Fish Hat hat from Knitty.

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / baby bib... on: October 19, 2009 05:20:39 AM
I wanted to experiment with picking up stitches to knit the cable lengthwise, so I doodled this bib:

made out of Dreambaby microfiber yarn.
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / cheap alpaca yarn stinks... on: October 19, 2009 05:19:09 AM
I used that cheap Bernat Acrylic/Cotton/Alpaca/Nylon yarn to make this hat for one of my nieces. I botched the cable, but the yarn was impossible to frog. It was a quick knit, but ugh...I won't ever use that yarn again!

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / these shoes were made for squishing... on: October 19, 2009 05:14:52 AM
I found the pattern in a Leisure Arts booklet (then again in a recent issue of Creative Knitting).

I made them out of some Louisa Harding ribbon I found - they are soft and squishy and everyone who sees them squeezes and keeps squeezing Cheesy
It's seriously some of the best ribbon yarn I've ever seen.

Anyway, here they are, sized approx. 3mo:

I used some fake pearls and dyed pearl shell flowers for the embellishment.
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / another cabled bib! on: March 28, 2009 04:00:30 PM
this one is based on the Modern Cabled Baby Bib, but I used a diagonal rib for the body. That made it skinnier, so I shortened the strap and made it for the teeniest of newborns Smiley

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Modern Cabled Baby Bib on: March 28, 2009 09:17:10 AM
or at least my version thereof!

Ravelry pattern: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/modern-cabled-baby-bib

my version:

It was a quick and enjoyable knit, even if I did botch the pattern Wink
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Under the Sea...*Pic Heavy* on: March 02, 2009 06:53:18 PM
This was a purse I couldn't resist - no real reason to make it, but once the idea hit I had to make it Wink

It's two strands of Plymouth cotton yarn, faux pearls, millefiori beads, Swarovski crystals, and cotton fabric for the lining.

8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / yet another felted bag... on: February 27, 2009 04:14:55 PM
made out of two strands of Briggs and Little, one strand of hand-painted worsted weight Lamb's Pride, on size 17 needles.

I beaded the handles for it myself (excuse the bad wire wrapping on the ends of them, I'm a newbie at that!) and used a Scandinavian pewter clasp for the closure.

Comments and constructive criticism welcomed!
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Bamboo bag... on: February 01, 2009 03:42:43 PM
well, the bag isn't bamboo, but the finishing touches are!

This was my weekend project - almost 4 skeins of Lion Landscape yarn, a wool/acrylic roving yarn. I just played around with it, no pattern as per usual  Roll Eyes Since I only used one strand of yarn, and it's a rectangular-ish shape, it needed something to stiffen it. I figured a spare pair of bamboo needles was appropriate for a knitting bag  Wink And they go with the bamboo hoops I attached for the handle.

Comments and Constructive Criticism welcome!

10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / knitted pox on: January 22, 2009 05:53:55 AM
because this yarn TOTALLY looked like it had the chicken pox...my 5 year old was so proud of it when I opened it on Christmas day lol.

I made a purse for one of his friends out of it...
