1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Some Dresses on: June 13, 2008 06:36:34 PM
These are just a few dresses/sets I've made recently. My daughter didn't feel like modeling, so I have a stand in.
This is a halter and bloomers set

the back, the bloomers have ruffle butt!

just a little pinafore

and lastly a patriotic dress I made

Thanks for looking!
2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Boys sets on: June 13, 2008 06:33:10 PM
So this is my very first project post, and I thought I'd start with some of the clothes I've made for boys. First is a pirate/skull set I made for my 8 yr old.

up close of tumbling skulls

a flaming motorcycle set for my 4 yr old

up close of applique

a basketball set (too small for my boys) just because I had the fabric in my stash. You can't tell in the photo, but the ball on the shirt is stitched to look like a basketball

and the last one, a VW set that again doesn't fit my boys but was in my stash

So what do you think?
3  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / applique question on: June 05, 2008 03:39:54 PM
Does anyone know if I use heat and bond to iron on an image, will it fall off in the wash if I don't sew it on? The way I want to do this particular applique, I can't zig zag around it or it will mess it up, and I don't want it fraying around the edges. Can anyone give me any tips on appliquing?
4  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / boy's shorts pattern? on: May 23, 2008 07:02:34 AM
Hello, I'm in need of a good shorts pattern for my little boys. I have a 7 year old, a 4 year old and a 2 year old godson, but don't know who makes a good cargo shorts pattern. Any recommendations on a good pattern would be appreciated, thanks.
5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / I need a dress pattern on: April 05, 2008 04:46:01 PM
I found this really great fabric at walmart, and want to turn it into a dress for my baby.  I need help choosing a pattern though. I'd really like a summer dress pattern, something simple that won't take away from the fabric. I'm open to dresses that have tutes on here as well! Thanks a ton!

here's a pic of the fabric:
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Pattern help on: April 04, 2008 06:44:18 PM
I found some really great fabric today for only $1 a yard! It didn't say what type of fabric it is, but it's super stretchy and soft. It sorta feels like old worn in sweats. The problem I have is turning them into something that I can wear, other than pajamas. I need ideas of what pattern I should use or even what I should do with it. Thanks for any help!
7  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Elastic problem on: April 03, 2008 12:54:22 PM
So I've made a diaper cover before, and now for the life of me I can't remember how I did it. I mean, I can't get the elastic on the leg holes right. I can't work bias tape right, and it's coming out very wonky trying to make a casing for the elastic since it's on the leg. I even tried sewing the elastic to the raw edge, but then it just looks sloppy and ugly. Any tips?
8  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / How do you make a ruffle butt? on: March 29, 2008 02:15:16 PM
So my daughters baptism is coming up and we have her dress and all, but for the life of me we can't find any of those ruffled panties to cover her diaper. I'd like to make them, and know how to make the panty but I can't figure out how to attach the ruffles and what material to use to make them. Any tips?

Thanks for any help!
