As someone already said, I clicked this mainly so I could laugh at some mall gawth who'd written the lyrics to sk8er boi on the toes of her converse, but damnit, you've foiled my moment of elitist laughter!
i realllly like these and you chose some rather excellent songs as well.
But freezer paper is NOT wax paper, so make sure you're getting freezer paper or it won't work! Seriously, can we make a sticky thread that says "THIS IS WHAT FREEZER PAPER LOOKS LIKE AND THIS IS WHERE TO GET IT" so that there isn't one of these questions in every post? (No offense to the poster who asked it.)
I really wasn't sure where to put this, but I'm preeeetty stoked about it. My BFF/platonic girlfriend Hana and I were driving somewhere when what should we see along the side of the road but a disgusting, semi-broken, abandoned toilet? After a quick examination to determine whether we would get four kinds of chlamidia by simply touching it (answer: probably), we threw it in the back of my Subaru and took it up the parking lot of her complex.
I don't really have a before picture, this is the closest I can find:
Half a gallon of bleach & far too much of some sort of caramel-like unidentified substance later, we had our toilet. But we weren't going to use it as a toilet. It was to be much, much more than that.
Spraypainted with Kryolan. I'm not sure how she attatched the zebra, I think I fell asleep or something while she did that. We probably should have repaired the cracked lid thingy, but we're lazy stoners.
Now go make your own! There are abandoned toilets out there that need love!
your bags are beautiful! i love the extra touch to each one to make them unique and your own. i always think that's such a great thing when people start their own line and you can see their "style". you should be proud. your freaking slouchy tinafish bags are better than mine!! love em all! esp the first one!!
I was like, "Aw, thanks," and then I realized that you ARE tinafish, hahaha! Thank you! *blush*
where can i get your pattern for the one with the hand cuffs cause thats what i wanted to make.....
The leopard print one is based on the tinafish slouch bag, the camo one is just a plainish hobo bag. Neither of them were made with patterns so your best bet is to go through the tutorial list and try to find one like them. (I don't have the patience to make tutorials anymore.) These things are friggin' tricky to make at first, though, so make sure you've made a couple purses beforehand.
I am jealous of your skills. My bags all come out super weird and boring. lol... Did you use patterns for those, or just draft your own?
I guess I technically "draft" my own, if by "draft" you mean "haphazardly cut and destroy everything, cry about it, throw it in my Enormous Drawer of Half-Finished Projects, pull it out a month latern and attempt to fix it." Seriously, the finished product is usually a complete surprise to me, hahah! But no, I don't use patterns. I just can't understand them no matter how hard I try, I think my brain just isn't made that way.
Update: It got left on the hood of her friend's car and they drove away. She found it in the road; it was ripped up and everything in it was smashed. She called me crying. R.I.P. bag. I'm out of town so I haven't seen it yet, I hope I'll be able to fix it
