21  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Retro- style bathing suit. on: May 28, 2008 09:52:33 AM
You look like a modernized version of the famous WWII Betty Grable pinup picture.  I so want a suit like this!
22  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Early 40's flared dress! on: May 28, 2008 09:43:55 AM
Beautiful!  Oh, I'm sitting here slack-jawed in amazement, especially after taking a peek at the pattern drafting website.

But definitely worth the work!
23  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: used as a stronger division than a comma on: May 26, 2008 01:52:55 PM
I'm snickering so hard, I can barely type.  Wonderful!

Adorable!  I love the hand-stenciled hearts.

This is great!  Grosgrain ribbon might not be so slippery, or you could maybe do a tab with a magnetic snap closure.
27  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Itty Bitty Pincushion from a milk (pic.added) on: May 19, 2008 09:32:57 AM
This is so great!  I've got to make one for myself now, as I'm always putting my needles down and then having to call my kids in to help me figure out where I put them!
28  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Re: I wish my machine was alive so I could kill it. on: May 16, 2008 09:18:44 AM
Yeah I was trying to blow the dust and lint away and remembered how my grandmother's sewing machine had a little brush that came with it.... which would be nice to have right about now... but I'll just have to use a rag or something.

Blowing can cause spit to get in the machine and then you get rust.  A smallish paintbrush might work, but the best thing I've found for cleaning is a feather.  Lint sticks to it really well, and it's flexible, which means you can get in all the nooks and crannies.

Good luck!

It was definitely hideous in its original incarnation, but it's wicked cute now!
