Thank you for the nice comments! My second attempt is in progress... I ought be working on that instead of browsing around on here, but this site is addictive.

Aww - with a face like that, who could say no to making a princess bag?!

Nice work on the bag, too!

I hope there will be another one of these swaps in the future. My husband bought me a new camera for mother's day that needs a cozy. However, I'm still on my first swap.

If you all don't mind, though, I'll be lurking - I want to see what you guys make!

=)

Not too shabby is right! When I was learning to sew, there was no way I'd attempt anything without a pattern and explicit instructions, so I have to say that I'm impressed.

Love the fabric you chose.

=)

I think bathing dude will have to be my wall paper for a few days. Men are such dorks.

Haha! I set the bathing dude as the wallpaper on my computer before I read as far as your post. Why? Just to see the totally astonished expression my husband will have when he sees it. I can hear him now, "Uhm, honey? Why... uh. Ali? Why is this guy...?"

As for the challenge for a cozy - I want to do this. Let's see if I can decide on something to cozy...

Fantastic visual appeal!

I know - it's not a purse, bag or wallet, but it does hold something, so I guess this is where it goes? I made this for my 9-year-old's cell phone, but even though I measured her phone, it ended up a bit to wide and short, and ended up fitting my phone instead. So, back to the drawing board for her phone.

I made it out felted wool for the holster and canvas strap for the belt loop thingy. I used a vintage embroidery pattern for the design. I did machine stitch the pieces together; the blanket stitching is decorative only. I wish it were more my style, but I doubt I'd ever use this.

And since the first didn't work for my girl, here is the second, slightly modified, and a perfect fit.

I have a hard time crafting when my hubby is home.  Tongue

I know what you mean! If I want to do any crafting when mine is at home, I have to find him a project first...

Mmmk - FINALLY have decided which pattern to use, so now I know how much fabric to buy when I head back to the store on Friday.

Anybody started the actual cutting/sewing yet?

So after reading that I'm assuming that having (and wearing) an apron will mean I'll actually clean my house.  Wink

I dunno. My sister made some adorable aprons for my girls. They wear them all the time. But their bedroom looks... well... disastrous. I don't think wearing aprons helped them at all.

At any rate, I have narrowed my pattern choice for my partner down to two. If I can't make up my mind, I may have to flip a coin.

Heads or tails, Aeon?
