41  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Inchie House Swap (Signups till 8/3; Send by 8/23) on: July 28, 2013 06:00:00 AM
Oooooooooh tempting! They look so cute on my shelf! Could we include a base (maybe a garden, street etc) for them to sit on? Small of course Wink

I was thinking that very same thought... Also had another idea, but am going to have to check the dollar store and craft stores to see if it is feasible...

Should the houses look like miniature models of real houses, be whimsically inspired by books( for example, Alice's house or the three little pigs houses, be full of surprising art on an house shape? Should they open or not, and if so, be decorated inside too? And how to decorate them: with paint, ink, stamps, glue, glitter, wood....? What would you like to receive?

excellent question!  would love to see what folks think Cheesy

I would think anything goes... But maybe groups could communicate with one another whether they prefer whimsical, art pieces, or realistic?

I haven't done a Back to Hogwarts swap yet... I think I want in...

I'm a Slytherin (if only for Snape), love ALL of the shops but am partial to the Leaky Cauldron and Flourish and Blotts, and as for a class... Potions, maybe? Alchemy? Charms? Herbology? How can I pick just one?!

I think it sounds like a lovely idea, and making three sounds about right.

maybe we need to do a little house swap...something that you decorate and send in an envelope for your partner to reassemble Grin

If you do that, I am *so* in.

Wee! My lovely envelope arrived from Avesthel today! It is so perfect... blues and greens, an adorable owl, and metallic paint (ssshhh. I am in love with gold paint markers for some reason...).

And look at the stamps! Silver coffee pots! Could it be any more perfect?

And the back... reminds me of one of my all-time favorite paintings.

It was stuffed with a bookmark, some WoW paper, a picture of birds <3, and the most adorable little paper folding houses.

Naturally, I had to make one right away. See how cute! I love this idea... It's about an inch wide, and maybe an inch and a half tall.

Thank you so much, Avesthel! It was such a nice treat to find in the mailbox after a long day at work!
