Just checking in. Haven't been on much this week due to work and school, and haven't been able to work on my items much, either.  =(   The coming week should be more productive!

Checking in! Thanks to my lovely partner always responding so quickly to any questions I have, I got to spend the morning working on *** **** ******. It's curing now, so it can do that on its own when I go to work this afternoon.

I've three things done, but I still need to plan out my large. I know what I want to do... so we'll see if I can work that out.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

I am reeeally loving ALL of these little houses. Awed by the observatory! Amazing.

I love that Squirrels End Pub!  How did you do the dormer window?

The dormer window was quite easy, but I am not sure I can explain it well. Here goes:

I made a triangle for the front of the dormer, and it had a tab on the bottom of it, and a tab on each of the angled sides.. The roof and wall of the main house is one piece, with the roof simply folded down from the wall, but the shingles I added created the overhang, so on the fold I cut a slit just big enough for the tab before shingling.

I tucked the tab on the bottom of the dormer into the slit, and glued the tab to the inside of the house, so that it would stay put and stand up straight when the main roof was folded back to its proper angle.

The roof was a small triangle, shaped to fit the dormer, and it had two tabs on the back side.

She had to fold down the two tabs on the sides of the dormer, and glue the roof to those. Then, when the house was assembled, she had to fold in and glue the tabs that were on the dormer roof, to the main roof.

You can see the little dormer roof in this picture, and the tabs she had to glue it to on the dormer bit that I had already attached to the house.

Gorgeous! I LOVE huck weaving! I get most of my patterns from vintage Workbasket Magazines, which is where I discovered it, or I make my own. Love the single color - very striking.

Last night my husband drove me all the way out to Port Charlotte so I could hit Hobby Lobby. I got everything I needed for my small and most of what I wanted for my medium. The medium is made of several components, and I haven't fully decided how I want to do the last bit.

Agreed!
I started a ___  last night for part of my Large! I've never done this before and am getting pretty pumped at how cool and easy it is (once you find the right materials  Roll Eyes). We'll see in approx an hour when it's done "cookin".

This whole IYP thing is pretty awesome... I am nearly finished with item number one, and haven't felt rushed or anything, which is kind of a nice feeling for me!

Thank you, loves2experiment, for organizing! I love the photo collage you did! It's neat to see all the different styles in one place.
