that looks great! so the pillowcase fabric is sewn over the t-shirt? ie there is still t-shirt material on your skin right?
anyway looks awesome

I actually cut away the front panel from the t-shirt and used that piece to make a pattern for the pillow case section. I sewed that patch in to where the old part of the t-shirt was.

Well, I made this about a year ago but I'm getting around to posting it now because I've been out of the country in India for 10 months. So, I have been pretty much out of the craftster loop for quite a while. I hope it still looks nice.
It was previous an ugly green shirt which I basically just shortened the sleeves and added black fabric to and I just patched in a piece of this crazy cool floral fabric from an old pillowcase. Really an easy project.
I hope you like it!

i like it. i have a friend with a similar shirt. i personally like the look of it messy, but you could probably just take a smaller brush and go over the lines again in the spots where you think it should be touched up. it looks great.

kaipod,
Is your strap knotted? Is it the knot that is hurting your shoulder?
Can you move the knot off center to one side or another (front or back) so that the weight of your books doesn't fall directly from the knot but falls on  a smooth stretch of handle?
Just a thought.

the knot is right at the top, so i guess that is probably the problem, but it's probably because I normally have way too many textbooks it my bag! Wink i was thinking of adapting the strap so it's maybe a little thicker. i don't know. i am going to see if moving the knot helps, but i think it's just how skinny the strap gets at the top.
thanks.  Smiley

You've probably already searched tyvek throughout craftster, but you could always make a purse, pouch, bag, or even a dress.  Wink

good luck! ...that's a lot of tyvek!

I made this bag the night before the first day of school... that was in September! I can't believe I am only getting to post this now! My Mom helped me out a bit, but it was a really fun project. I get so many compliments on it and people cannot believe it's hand-made. I even got two boxes of ties from my aunt because she loved my bag.

Sorry, I got a little picture happy...

Rickrackruby-
I want to thank you for such a detailed and wonderful tutorial. It's one of the best ones I have seen on craftster. It must have been a lot of work.

Thanks. Smiley

ps...does anyone else who has made this have problems with the straps digging into your shoulders? my only issue.
