1  Re: ONGOING JOURNAL PAGE SWAP MARCH/APRIL 2011 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Angelus on: April 13, 2011 08:53:31 PM
From eeyore_witch:

This is amazing! Simple but very effective. For those wondering, the map in the background is a greeting card that I lined with wrapping paper and I am putting my pages in it. The pages will be accordion folded within the card and once I have enough pages, I will be attaching a closure to it so the pages stay inside.

2  Harry Potter - Slytherin Altered Notebook (Image Heavy) in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Angelus on: March 23, 2011 03:23:08 PM
Okay so I wanted to make a visual journal but I wanted something Slytherin themed. It's mostly completed but the journey is only beginning because as I add pages, I will probably add more to the cover as well. I also might add a green ribbon with a charm for a bookmark as well.

I designed all of the images used on the front, back, and inside covers.

^---- This is what I started with.

^------- The image I used for the base front cover. The Slytherin crest made to look like crinkled paper. I used Photoshop CS5.

A better picture.

I decided to add some silver foil binding. It's origami paper.

The inside covers. I made this in Photoshop CS5 as well.

Then I laminated the covers using packing tape.

If someone wants an in depth tutorial, I'd be more than happy to post one as the steps are a bit more intricate than this but it's still relatively easy to do.

Loooooooooooooooooo ong overdue but between recrafting and sickness, I've been away from the computer.

ZombriNation crafted me some wonderful bookmarks:

All had some sort of mythology reference for the most part. They are amazing and I hope the mail doesn't lose my envelope this time.

Here are the pics of what I've received from lidehtium:

Awesome Abby inspired purse and Federal Agent hat. Cheesy
The purse goes to work with me every day now.

Caution tape necklace.

Also included was a bat rubber stamp (non-crafted) that I am sure will see a lot of use not just for NCIS crafts but I am also a Batman fan. Cheesy

Thank you so much, lidehtium!

5  Re: Glee Swap Gallery Send out by 7/12/10 in The Swap Gallery by Angelus on: July 18, 2010 07:58:47 AM
I received from Hannah yesterday and when I found what was inside, I totally squeed. Wink

Hannah did an amazing job covering all bases because it was so hard for me to decide who I really wanted items from.

First up, April's Coasters:

They are heavy glass coasters, the kind you can put pictures in and they came in a holder:

2 of them had quotes from Kurt and 2 had quotes from Sue. Above is "I am no longer going to carry around a photo I.D. You know why? Everyone should know who I am."

Now, Sue's Recipe Box. Made from a Cheerio's Box. I am in the midst of collecting recipes that I love so this was a perfect box to keep my favorites in.

And now, my absolute favorite item! Rachel's Tote Bag! Complete with Jesse St. James. Cheesy Cheesy

My mom and I disagree on carrying around crafted tote bags but we both agree that this one is a  perfect everyday tote.

Thank you so much, Hannah!

6  Re: Monty Python Swap Gallery - Sendouts April 7th in The Swap Gallery by Angelus on: May 18, 2010 01:03:26 AM
I received from ojy today and boy must I say that I've been SPOILED. I wasn't able to get photos of everything as my batteries died and I don't have AAA's readily available but I will try and get better photos in the morning when I can borrow my mom's camera. Here's what I have though.

This is the entire package.

Why yes, that is a plush Holy Hand Grenade! Don't make me count to three!

A mysterious book lie in wait.

It's the Book of Armaments!

But wait! It's also a black felt lined box! Cheesy

A SPAM Cookbook, Black Knight and Holy Grail magnets, and Monty Python and the Holy Grail on VHS!

My fave recipe. Wink

Framed Specials chalkboard. Unfortunately with faded lettering but it says: "Specials SPAM Baked Beans are Off!"

Other things included in the package... A tote bag that says "And now for something completely different" on the outside and "Always look on the Bright Side of Life" on the top of the inside and a copy of Monty Python's Previous Record on vinyl.

The inchies were very simple to make and done digitally. Cheesy They're all based on various sprite styles from the video game sprites found at Lycentia's SM Graphics site, which is also where a lot of the Perler patterns are based on as well. Here's my pic, so sorry it's this late...

Rika made me a plush locket which plays music and an awesome cat ear headband!

Although the star looks partially white, I promise it was because my scanner wasn't fully closed. To round out the 5 points, Rika also sent me Pocky which I am savoring for a while yet. Cheesy I don't get Pocky often anymore so I have to make it last.

Bumping up and also posting my new set... These are AVAILABLE for swaps.

The characters are from Samurai Sentai Shinkenger which was the first season of Super Sentai in a long time to not have a Power Rangers counterpart.
