1  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Ugliest kitchen of them all. Severe help needed... on: March 25, 2008 05:11:27 AM
Hi guys! long time lurker! first time poster!  Kiss

So, I am  buying this house. Its a fixer upper (obviously) and I need help with the kitchen. I planned on painting the horrible wood panel cabinets ASAP. The rest of my house is going chocolate brown, a biege peach and deep red or blue. I want my kitchen to look "clean" and pretty. I would like to tie in a bright blue glass as my back spalsh. The counters are a darker grey, and they are new. (Why they didnt replace the cabinets from the 60's when they replaced the countertops is beyond me...)

So i was thinking i wanted to do them white, or maybe a cottage white so its not so  Shocked when you walk into the kitchen. Its an open floor plan into the family room, dining room and bar area. so i can't get too crazy with it. Also, one wall of the cabinets are built in....  Sad so refacing them is just not an option now...

Any ideas? i was thinking a cottage white, with deep sea blue backsplah, and a deep sea blue inside to the cabinets... get some pretty blue contact paper, so when you open them, they pop a smidge... i dunno. i hate the kitchen and it will be first re model... but for right now, i just need to be able to walk in there and cook without vomiting.

Any help is DEEPLY appreciated!
