Mariquita went with us to pick up a few fireworks for tonight. (Some of the names were hilarious)

Hopefully we can get a few nice shots tonight!

Apparently Coccinelle is really good at hide and seek.  She & Goose were playing and we still haven't found her over a week later.  Maybe she fell asleep like I have in the game before.  A friend she has made volunteered to fill in until the lovely ladybird resurfaces.

Here is Mariquita helping with a swap.
Swap packages, allergy medicine, and running to the airport to pick up or drop off hubs is about all that has happened lately.  More fun ahead though.

Coccinelle hung around with Goose in a temporary Dinosaur Exhibit.

With a Triceratops

And here is a Pachycephalosaurus whose skull has alway reminded me a bit of the dragons in Fairy Tales.

Coccinelle also helped me get brave enough to dye my hair like I've wanted to for a while.

Sorry I've been so quiet....
We are working on a new outfit for Coccinelle and preparing for a busy next week, so Goose has been entertaining our lovely ladybird while I hook and frog. They seem to have fun!

whenindoubt- He really enjoyed it!  I added a hint for those that don't want to strain their eyes too much!

Natasja- I'm glad D'Ood has been kept happily helpful.  He positively sings in joy at being of use when we feel ill. The projects look delightful and the strawberries sound scrumptious.

Anofeles- Hope your exams go well!

CT- Hope this week brightens for you! Glad everyone is okay after the hail.

I had to share a couple of pics of what we did on Saturday!  Coccinelle, Goose and myself went to a fundraiser that was a painting class.

Coccinelle found a canvas her size and followed along with the rest of us. I think she may have found a hobby.  Goose went with a Bluebonnet Tree and celebrated creativity with a dash of impressionism.

In process pic of Coccinelle.  We even made a small apron so her dress would stay neat.

A wonderful redshirt brought me a fun package!  Happily no one was lost in this mission!

All wrapped up so sweetly.  Our Little Visitor,  Coccinelle is helping get the packages open.

All opened!

Just look at all the awesomeness! Now for the close-ups.

Look at this amazing bag!
Love all the patterns, Nooo is a master!

She also crafted a journal I can't wait to Trek out!

I can't tell you how excited I am to have a new craft to play with!

My absolute favorite though is this little fellow, who also delighted Coccinelle.

So cute, monsterous, and just downright logical!
Thank you so much Nooo for putting on some angel wings for me!

27  Amigurumi Addiction 3 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by goldfishpollywog on: May 24, 2013 07:02:39 PM

Dust off your yarn and let's get playing!

For those who are interested..."Ami" means knit/crochet in Japanese and "nuigurumi" means stuffed creature, so amigurumi is a stuffed knit/crochetted creature.  Well, that is simple and can mean just about anything from a bobomb in your pocket to the little hooked kitty sitting on your shelf.  Often cute or fanciful and not commonly large, amigurumi is an enjoyable craft with a nice finished product even for beginners.

Some previous Ami Galleries:

Anything Amigurumi I gallery Anything Amigurumi I gallery
Anything Amigurumi II
Amigurumi Addiction Gallery
Amigurumi Addiction 2 Gallery
 Amigurumi Addiction Tiny Edition Gallery

Where do you find patterns for amigurumi? All over the internet are quite a few sites that have free amigurumi patterns.  Some require registration, some don't.  Of course Craftster is my favorite. But here are a few that I have found.
http://craftlog.org/craftingjapanese/archives/amigurumi/ -a diverse site with a lot of pictures and some good links.

If you can't find what you are looking for, but really prefer a pattern, you might try this site.
Etsy is always an option also, or just "wing" it.

Sundae is so cute, love her head bopping Anana!

Jay seems to have found a nice patch of sunshine. Hope y'all are enjoying yourselves.

Goose decided to play hide and seek with Coccinelle and a few friends that came from other swaps joined in.  Can you find her?

Hint:  She has a window seat

My first doll is also in that rocket ship, and one of the first things I received in a Craftster swap.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Phoenixfire- I am having a serious case of camera wishing!  Wonderful pictures!

leatherandlace- Bright Run looks like fun!

PaperBeau- I will get up there yet!  It terrifies my Goose though!

Smeddley- Beautiful bi-plane!

Alexampersandra - Glad the fire wasn't too bad. Perfect baby shower gift.

Anofeles - Looks like a nice place to relax.

waterbaby- Franklin looks like he is having a great time helping out!  Love all the shots.

We did find numbers this week in a trip to the library.  I was looking for a few patterns to play with and we took an opportunity to celebrate the Dewey decimal system.

Afterwards we had an impromptu picnic in the front yard that turned into a community playdate.  The kids got ahold of my camera and played with Coccinelle (supervised, but they are protective of her).  Our neighbor's girl had to get a shot of Coccinelle in an acorn cap.

Absolutely love the mug cozy!  That is a quote I use often when frustrated with a loading page.

Love the colorful trek purse too!

I wanted to share what I sent as I haven't heard from my partner in awhile.

She said she like amigurumi, so I picked two of her favorite characters and well....

Here is Captain Janeway with Season 3 hair (which gave me a few fits)
I customized her eyes to be a nice hazel.

And of course a chibi Wesley.

I even got the sleeve detail and hair flip, which caused my son to geek out completely.
Also, sent some Trek fabric and a TNG junior novel that I had featuring Picard's academy days.
