1  Re: Camera Cozy! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by MSS08 on: January 29, 2010 01:22:20 PM
I appreciate all the comments!

Very cute.  What kind of camera do you have?  One of these would be perfect for my friend who is just breaking into photography...I wonder if I could use your basic design to fit her camera also??

I have an Olympus SP560UZ. Here is the basic template that I made up. I hope it makes sense!

2  Camera Cozy! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by MSS08 on: January 29, 2010 11:58:14 AM
I've mostly been a lurker on craftster, but I made this today and I am pretty proud!   Grin
I needed some sort of cover for my camera since I usually just toss it in my purse haphazardly and sometimes the lens cover pops off and it can get a little jumbled up in there.
I used three layers of fabric: one for the lining, a layer of fleece for some extra padding and coziness (it is a cozy after all), and the outside fabric. I love the vintage look of the fabric!
Without further ado here are the pictures!

Thanks for looking!

3  Our First (Gingerbread) House Together! in CHALLENGE 46 ENTRIES by MSS08 on: January 03, 2010 07:43:09 AM

This is my first entry into a challenge here on craftster!
My fiance and I wanted to make a gingerbread house this year and since we had the time we went all out. He had never made one and I had only made some small graham cracker ones when I was little. We're getting married this October so it was fun to say that it is our first house together.
We made a model first out of brown paper bags then used those pieces to cut out our gingerbread. We used almost 2 batches of a gingerbread recipe and another batch and a half of royal icing.
We worked on it over 3 days...one day to make all the gingerbread pieces and assemble the walls (we used waterbottles to prop them up). One day for the roof and starting to decorate and the last day for more decoration.
We used pretzel sticks, sweet tarts, candy canes, laffy taffys, jolly ranchers, runts, 2 candy cane Christmas trees, and fun size chocolate bars for decorating it.
Some in progress shots...

We appropriately wore aprons with gingerbread men on them that I had made for a family Christmas cookie making day.

It of course had to have a raised deck in the back!

The completed project...

4  Dad's button up shirt into a halter top for me in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by MSS08 on: March 27, 2008 02:09:43 PM
Hello this is my first post. I love everyones ideas and I thought I'd share something of my own. I got this shirt from my dad and liked the color and decided to make a halter top. I had a picture in my head and winged it as I went along. It had to be taken in on the sides and also made shorter.  I made 2 long strips from the sleeves and sewed them into the sides and tied them into a bow in the back. I'm pleased with the way it turned out! Now it just needs to be warm to wear it. There are four pictures. One before, after, a side and back.
