1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / A mouse and a bear...free pattern links available! on: April 27, 2009 11:53:24 AM
Hello everyone!

I haven't posted on craftster in quite a while.  I wanted to come around and share some patterns that I wrote on my blog in the past couple months.  The first one is for Henri, a small knitted bear:

The pattern is available here:
http://yarnigans.vox.com/library/post/henri-the-knitted-bear.html

The second project is a mouse that is the same basic pattern, with a few variations.  Here she is:

The pattern for her can be found here:
http://yarnigans.vox.com/library/post/marisol-mouse.html

These are also up on ravelry.  Enjoy!

2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Moose A. Moose doll (from Noggin network) on: September 26, 2008 11:13:26 AM
My son is totally in love with Moose A. Moose, the host of the Noggin network on tv.  So, for his first birthday, I made him a stuffed version of Moose.  I went to Noggin's website, and found a coloring book type picture of Moose they had available as a pdf.  I used shift-prt sc to copy the image to my clipboard, pasted as a new image in paint shop, blew it up to 225% size, cut it into quarters and print each one out on a full sheet of paper.  I taped them together and used them as my pattern.  Here's the finished product:

The body of the moose is made out of anti-pill polar fleece.  The eyes are also made out of layers of polar fleece.  The face is handsewn on and the mouth was embroidered out of thick black thread.  The antlers are brown corduroy.  Thanks for checking it out!
3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / A tote I made from fused/recycled plastic bags on: May 30, 2008 03:34:53 PM
I started fusing plastic bags shortly after I read the tutorial on etsy labs (found at http://etsylabs.blogspot.com/2007/05/long-overdue-fusing-plastic-bag.html for those of you who may not have read it yet) but my pieces are pretty crappy and strangely-shaped as I am still trying to really get the hang of it.  I couldn't really make anything good with them so I cut them up and sewed them together patchwork-style to make two totes.  My computer is only letting me upload pics of one of them right now, so here it is:

The lining inside and the straps are this striped denim fabric that I just had lying around.  This is sort of a rough draft-- I wanted to make a bunch to give to friends and this is the one I made to get the shape right so it really wasn't pinned/pressed/measured.  Thanks for looking!

4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Super easy daffodils on: April 19, 2008 07:48:18 AM
I made up this pattern the other day, and I just posted it here on crochetme:
http://crochetme.com/patterns/daffodils-spring
and here's a pic:

I'm really excited with how it turned out.  I've never really written a pattern down before,  I usually just do it all in my head.
5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / I don't know how to finish this doll... on: April 08, 2008 08:21:15 AM
I was planning on making this doll into Little Red Riding Hood, but after I finished her hair I realized that there was way too much of it to fit inside of a hood.  So I knitted her a dress, but now she looks sort of unfinished to me.  I've been working on her for weeks and now I'm just plain out of ideas.  Anybody have any suggestions on finishing her up?  Here's her pics:

6  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Amigurumi Lunch! on: April 04, 2008 11:10:59 AM
This is my first post sharing something I've made, so I hope you like it!
I guess I shouldn't have skipped breakfast yesterday, because I was hungry when I started crafting and I made these four characters.  I've made cupcakes with faces, and sandwiches with faces, but I've never made fruit or vegetables, so this is my first try at that.  It reminds me of Yo Gabba Gabba - "There's a party in my tummy!"

Thanks for looking!
