1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Vest from a jacket?? on: September 20, 2006 07:58:08 AM
Ok so everywhere I go I am seeing these little vests for women to wear (which I love) and I was wondering if there was a way to transform some button up suit jackets into these vests....I'm not a great sewer but do have some jackets that sleeves are a little short now and I would love to try to recreate this look, ideas, suggestions anyone?
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / What to do with my dad's sweatshirt on: January 20, 2006 05:08:01 AM
So I have this pretty cool red sweatshirt with the Bulls on it.  It was my Dad's - but he cut off the sleeves a long long time ago as he only used it to work out it in....now I have this huge sleeveless Chicago Bulls sweater (which I lovE!) but need to fix it up to make it cooler....
I was at a festival a cpl summers ago and remember seeing some tank tops that had been made from sweatshirts - the straps were from the sleeves or bottom I'm guessing and the logos weren't in the middle they were kinda on an angle - not sure if you follow...
I've done very minimal sewing and nothing reconstructed other than a jean skirt......any tutorials/ideas/suggestions are very very appreciated.
Thanks!
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Baby "Bag" on: October 13, 2005 06:33:57 AM
Hi everyone,

I'd like to make something special for a friend expecting - and was thinking of a baby "bag", like a sleeping bag with a zip up the middle or something? Does anyone have a pattern or other suggestions.  I'd like to maybe steer away from the baby blanket.

Thanks,
littlestace

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / any good men's sweater patterns? on: August 24, 2005 07:52:44 AM
Okay my b.f. won't stop bugging me to make him a sweater...and aside from knitty's leo I can't find any patterns that I like, the only issue with this is that he is a little heavier and it seems as though knitty's pattern might be too fitted?? any suggestions for patterns?

thanks!

8  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Stitch n Bitch Group abandoned! on: August 14, 2005 02:08:05 PM
Hi all I just found out that there is (well was) a SNB group in my hometown Hamilton, ON - found it on Yahoo! Groups and the last post was over a year ago.

I'm so disappointed because I'm still a fairly new knitter and would love to participate in a group in person - especially with the not so nice weather in the not so far future.....

Anyone in the Hamilton, Burlington, Stoney Creek Ontario area know of a knitting group? Or interested in starting something up again?

Thanks!

9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / My first cool scarf!!! **Better picture** on: March 02, 2005 09:37:32 AM
Hi everyone, I am very excited to have finished my second project (I'm now on my 5th or 6th but have only now gotten around to the photos).....my boyfriend really liked the pattern of some of the scarves recently for sale at the GAP but not the colors available - so in a gutsy beginners move I told him I could do it myself.....(I didn't know how to change colors yet or anything really LOL) so we came up with the scarf below & we both love it.  I love all of the completed projects here and was inspired to start knitting by your posts - - - and the news of my only sister having her first baby. Let me know what you think!
