41  Re: I miss Harry Potter Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Rainbow_Storms on: July 10, 2008 06:38:53 AM
So here are the pictures of the awesome stuff I received from ShardaeDobby!

First- Wrist Warmers that had been transfigured from a Ravenclaw Scarf!

Awesome bookmarks with potterpuff characters and quotes from them on the back

Lovely Earrings in each of the House colours- (sorry for picture brightness.. I had a hard time w/ some of the pictures. There's four pairs, but only one earring of Slytherin and Hufflepuff made it into the picture.)

A journal/text with information about Horocruxes written in it.

A wallet straight off of my wists-, except this one is my favourite book cover!

And a purse that was also transfigured from that Ravenclaw scarf  Cheesy

Also, a really bad action shot. But I was sooo excited..

What a great swap! I loved everything!!

I received from bluemopitz and am in the process of taking pictures.... I always have about a million different things come up when I want to post pictures!! But it's all super cute! She made: 2 painted wine glasses (oo la la!), a polyclay cupcake to go on my cell phone (I've always wanted one for my poor little ratty phone, lol), a felt book, and the cutest cupcake marble thumbtacks. And all sorts of lovely extra goodies! What a great package!

ETA: Here's pictures!!!!

Group shot

The uber cute wine glasses (sorry, bad lighting. But soo cute!)

Cupcake thumbtacks!

a little mini tote

A neede book & some needles!

A polyclay phone charm

All the lovely extras (notice the sweet tattoos? I love fake tattoos!)

And a close up of this cute little applique-style box.

Thanks for a great swap! I love everything!

43  Re: OTT Shrinkie Swap part deux Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Rainbow_Storms on: June 09, 2008 02:25:48 PM
Ok, sorry, craftster always lags after I upload pictures, so I have to wait.  Sad

Here are all of my lovely shrinkies!!

An awesome skull necklace. It's so kawaii!

Another cool necklace charm. I love all the fusion, and the rainbow-y

style colours. So pretty!

An uber-neat artwork/hanging that kind of goes with my screen name!

It's so cute, I think it will look GREAT hanging in my living room!

And ceruleaneyes claimed this was a "freebie" because she didn't think it

turned out well. I actually have no idea what she is talking about,

because it is so cute!!

I really wish you could have seen my face in this picture. My cousin took it for me, and I guess he thought I was a little too excited. But this was basically what my face was  Grin

Here's the awesome stuff from Just_lisa in all it's glory!

crocheted ami with a blue top

crocheted mushroom candy dish with pink top.  The top comes off and there's yummy candies inside!

a small book & a larger swap journal book. They are so beautiful and awesome!

And an adorable mushroom needle book, which I desperately needed, but have never gotten around to making!

There was also a hand illustrated mini story book created by her daughter which was super cute, but I was so excited when I opened everything I missed it at first and didn't get a picture. But I have placed it on our dining room buffet in a place of honor.

Thanks so much just_lisa, I loved everything, and thank you ritapizza for being a great swap organizer!

45  Cupcake earrings in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by Rainbow_Storms on: May 16, 2008 07:04:51 AM
So I've been working on making cupcakes, and let me just say that cupcakeaccessories' tutorial on here is very helpful. These are a pair that I made for my mom for Mother's Day. The pictures didn't turn out very well... it's been rainy and the lighting here is pretty sucky. I wish you could see the icing swirls better..  Sad

46  Harry Potter's Snitch in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Rainbow_Storms on: May 16, 2008 07:03:52 AM
This is a stuffed Snitch from Harry Potter that I made for my friend. She's getting married in about a month, so I designed it as a Christmas tree ornament so they could start their ornament collection (she'd amassed a huge collection already, but it was with a different guy... so they pretty much vedon't have any  Tongue)

It was ridiculously easy. I just sat down and whipped it together. I think I could easily make another 20! But unless you're wanting a Quidditch tree, I think it might be pointless.

The perfect size to snatch in your hand!

Opinions and comments much desired! Thanks for looking!

Lisateacher has received, and said I could go ahead and post some pictures. She's going to get some action shots up here in a couple days. We did 1 medium, 1 small with some little extras. This is what I sent!

Group shot w/ card in background

Mushroom magnet

Mushroom earrings (There's some shine on the tops of these and the necklace, I think. It looks kind of beat up, but they didn't really look like that!!)

With matching necklace

Nintendo pincushion

and a kawaii-styled plushie.

Hope you like everything, lisateacher- it was a lot of fun to make!

48  Jewelry- good enough to sell, and how much? in Get Product and Website Opinions by Rainbow_Storms on: April 23, 2008 08:47:09 AM
So my husband and I are opening up our own consignment store. I've started working with polyclay- charms and jewelry, and I was wanting some opinions about whether they're good enough to start selling yet, and how much they would be worth.

Here's some of them, I have a few more that I didn't get pix of before I left the house.

Poptart earrings

Skull earrings

Rainbow/Raincloud Earrings

Ninja Earrings

Cupcake pendant

Fortune Cookie pendant

I was thinking about $6 (USD) for the earrings, and $5 for the pendants.... I don't know if this is high, or cheap. I do know it's about all I'd pay for earrings, but I'm about as cheap as they come  Cheesy, so....

Any thoughts about quality or price suggestions are greatly appreciated!

49  Ninjas, rainbows, skulls, fortune cookies... I love making my own jewelry in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by Rainbow_Storms on: April 23, 2008 08:34:53 AM
So this weekend I got the chance to sit down and really work w/ polyclay. I'm just a beginner, but I am so pleased with how my stuff turned out. I didn't get pictures of two of my favourite pairs of earrings, a toast/eggs combo, and some little mushrooms, but I did get some shots of these.... let me know what you think. Any advice/comments are appreciated! (The first two are probably my least favourites)

Poptart/toaster pastry earrings

Skull earrings

Rainbow/Raincloud Combo earrings

Ninja Earrings (loove these)

Cupcake Charm/Pendant

And my all time favourite- the fortune cookie necklace.

Action Shot! (ignore the goofiness of my face. I suck at taking my own pictures)

Thanks for looking!!!

**edited** forgot to add the tute for the fortune cookie- http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=171868.0

I didn't do it exactly like this, but it helped ALOT.

50  Miniature Stuffies (IMG heavy) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Rainbow_Storms on: April 16, 2008 03:01:18 PM
These were actually intended as pin cushions (and they work pretty well for that, too), but I think that they would be equally as cute sitting on a desk, or in my case, a dresser.

This is Eli the Whale. He enjoys all sorts of mischief and likes to complain about his little sister, Marnie following him around everywhere. But secretly, he's rather fond of her.

Meet Marnie. Eli's little sister, she loves tracking her brother to see what he's up to. She can't help it, he just does so much cool stuff!!

Little Blue Bunny doesn't ask for much. He just wishes you'd quit sticking your sewing needles in him. Maybe then he wouldn't be so blue...

It's a hard knock life for a monster. All he wants to do is play, but everyone runs away when he tries to join in their kickball game. No wonder he's so surly!

It's Charlie the Alien! He just thought he'd drop by to see if you were up for a friendly probing!

All of these little guys are around 2-4 inches in width and height. They're made from felt and polyfill stuffing, and I've used embroidery floss to do a blanket stitch on them all except for Marnie. Any comments or opinions about them would be appreciated!
