1  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: hawaiian delight :) on: June 16, 2009 08:13:47 AM
I'm about to make a quilt just like this one for my little man, yet to be born. My squares are going to be different prints with teal, light blue, navy, and brown. But the idea is only in my head, I haven't actually planned out any measurements yet. I hadn't thought about what the back should look like, but I LOVE your idea of the patchy border around the white! I was going to do a patchy binding, but I think that might be overkill with the border.

How big is your quilt? What size did you cut the squares? How wide is your sashing?

That is a really awesome quilt. So different! And interestingly, I'm due in September with our little man, to be named Liam. And those are the colors for his nursery. How neat!
3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: my first amy b. birdie sling! on: May 25, 2009 01:38:49 PM
I've really been wanting to make this, but just have not gotten around to buying the pattern. But I have heard that the pleats are tricky, so don't feel bad. And that is some groovy fabric on the bottom!
4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: AWESOME WALL LETTERS-----WITH TUTE!!! on: May 25, 2009 01:24:57 PM
I've had this post bookmarked for a LONG time. But now I finally found a reason to make some letters! We're having a little boy, who's due in September. And the crafting has begun! Expect some finished room pics in late July!

So here's what I did: (btw, I used a different kind of sealer that said "clear satin finish," so my letters aren't really shiny like in the tute)

That looks so cool with the buttons! And I love how you did the wavy lines of stitching.

One suggestion: To make your bag look more professional, and to help the handles lay flat...iron the heck out of them until they are flat and then top-stitch the edges so they'll stay that way.

Those are adorable. The fabric is too cute. Is it knit? I bet my niece would LOVE some of those.
7  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Loungers - pics and tutorial link! on: February 23, 2009 06:44:43 AM
Those are great! I really like the wide legs. You know, its really OK to use them for pjs. The only reason they say not to is because the fabric isn't flame resistant. But flame resistant fabric scares me anyway. It's so weird. And I don't really think that the safety aspects make that much sense. There was a post/discussion about it on here. I'll see if I can find the link.

8  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Valentine's Day Outfit for the keeper of my Heart :) on: February 23, 2009 06:41:04 AM
That is so adorable! Applique is one of my favorite things to do. I gotta think about this for next year for my niece. She would be so into this. Too bad I missed it this year!
9  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: what is black, red and white, and tube-like all over? on: February 23, 2009 06:38:09 AM
That panel part is really neat! I really hate taking stuff apart once I've sewn it, so I understand how you feel. I'd almost rather start over most of the time. But I think this is worth it. The top part is so cute. Love your monkey's hair!
10  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: My name is Dorian!!! I like to DANCE!!! on: February 23, 2009 06:36:31 AM
I don't have any kids yet (one inside, though!), so I have never heard of this show. But it sounds really cute! These shirts are so amazing. Your LO is lucky to have you! I bet he's the coolest dressed kid around. My favorite is the robot-looking guy...Toodee?
