11  Re: Corset and tute! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by cyanidejoy on: September 13, 2008 09:32:53 PM
I had a lot of fun with this project, even if I broke 4 needles on d rings.  I hate d rings.  I had to use them, though, could not get the resources for a grommet punch.

Again, this tute was what made everything possible. Thanks!

Ignore twisted rings and threads, please.  Was way too tired and sunburnt to bother fixing.

Gorgeous shiny cotton and velvet trimmm, all on sale. ^.^

12  Something Mechanical involving bobbins causing bunched thread. uh oh. in Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions by cyanidejoy on: July 18, 2008 08:24:11 PM

I have a Singer Inspiration 4220 Machine, 8 months old, no problems until now.  The thread from the bobbin bunches up on the fabric, and a loud rattling sound comes from the area around the bobbin when the machine is sewing.  I rethreaded the machine several times, so I don't think that's it.  I took off both bobbin covers and cleared all the lint out, but the metal piece that the bobbin sits in feels loose.  I'm not sure if it needs to be tightened or if it's always like that and I just noticed now.  Please help! Huh

It's neat that you're branching out and stuff, and it looks pretty yummy~

Btw, they do have bacon mints...XD They smell like dog treats, but they're for people.

Happy cooking!

14  School Musical Tee recon (with added mini tute for sleeves) in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by cyanidejoy on: March 24, 2008 04:52:51 PM
I was in my school's musical, and all of us got tshirts.  I never usually wear t shirts, so I wanted to make something that would actually fit me.  This is my first post, and my first time making clothing...The sleeves look a little wonky, but I don't think it's bad for a first try, I'm wearing it tomorrow.  Criticism?

The potato sack that is before:

During (I liked it this way, but my mother and school dres code doesn't):

Finished (I subconsciously tilt my hips when I stand, so it looks offcentered):

In case anyone wanted to know, here's how I made the sleeves. I tried on the tube top and had my mom measure from front to back, and marked the back for me.  I cut the green in the shape above, and then cut a few inches in and made darts so it wouldn't stand straight up.  I sewed the cloth edging onto the green, then sewed both sleeves onto the top.  Hope this helps!
