Here are some baby things I made in the last few days.

Onesies, changing mat, and hat made out of a t-shirt.

I want to paint some onesies for a baby due in August. I have regular acyrlic paints, is that ok? Should I wash it once before I give it as a gift- ie. will the paint run and color other things in the wash?

Any help would be great

My brother's gf is having a baby shower next month, so I called her up to ask if she had anything special she planned to wear and she said no, so I told her I would make her something.  She also mentioned needing something comfortable to wear to festivals when it's hot out, and she's late in the pregnancy. So this is what I came up with.  It ties behind the neck and the back.

I got these little white shoes at the dollar store and painted mushrooms on them. They're for my brother and his girlfriend, who are expecting a baby in August, and the two of them are kind of hippies. I think I may paint a onesie to match!

An pregnant friend of mine asked me to make her a baby sling. I know they're supposed to be easy to make but..... whenever I read instructions/patterns online, I get really confused. I've looked at so many how-to-make-babysling sites, but I'm just not *getting* it!!

Can someone explain to me, in layman's terms, how to make a baby sling? Maybe draw a simple picture? I just need the general shape and then I can figure out seams/details on my own. I already bought 2 steel rings.

To make the general shape, would I sew together 2 half circle shapes, so they're open at the top like a half a pita pocket??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I wanted to make something special for when my boyfriend meets my parents and we have dinner together, so I made this dress tonight when I had some free time and extra fabric.  It's not 100% done, as I still have to hem it, but I ran out of thread.

I was thinking of adding a ribbon to it on the front, under /between the boobs-  what do you think?

P.S.  The fabric is extra from a surprise quilt I am making him!

The Women's Center on campus is organizing an event called I want my FemTV (take-off of the mtv phrase). And so to advertise, we made t-shirts that we'll be selling. Unfortunately one of them was burnt by the iron, so I said I'd take it and decorate it into something special, and we could use it as the official t-shirt that goes up on the wall for each event. I painted it, cut off the sleeves and painted them and reattached them, ruffle-style, and I added a ribbon belt. So, here it is... from a regular white t-shirt...

I co-run the Animal Rights club on campus, and I've made a bunch of tees and bags to give away at tablings. And some of the shirts are just for me to wear around so I can spread the message. Here's some of the latest stuff:

At a festival I saw a display of tie-dyed and dip-dyed lingerie, and they were so pretty. I asked the lady selling them if she made them herself, and she said that she did and that they had to be pretreated first, unlike just tie-dying a regular t-shirt. Does anyone know anything about this, or has ever done it before? I really want to make some!

I want to make it so badly, but I know I'll mess it up if I go by trial and error,and I hate patterns. Do you think it needs to be stretchy fabric?
