21  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: New bed cover! on: September 01, 2008 07:05:20 AM
haha thanks!  I sewed up the hole and give them toys to chew on when they lie on it now!  It's been almost 12 hours and no new holes!!
22  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / New bed cover! on: August 31, 2008 07:18:16 PM
When my chocolate lab was just a little baby we got him a pillow to lie on to try and get him to not be used to sleeping on the couch( move forward 5 months to today..and guess what he's doing right now...sleeping on the couch..).  Anyways, he absolutely destroyed this pillow when he was young.  he destroyed the zipper and did his business all over it and even managed to pull the pillow out and started eating.  We eventually just put the pillow away, only bringing it out to see if he would be good before we got him a big boy bed.  Move forward to today and we have a 10 week old border collie.  we brought the pillow out with no cover(As our chocolate lab pretty much ate it) and both the dogs love it! But it was so ugly I sewed a new cover for it!

This is Joey with his little boy bed!!

And TJ after he reclaimed the bed

Fast forward ten minutes after this picture was taken...and you'll see a huge hole int he middle of the cover!! I'll never win!!
23  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: Football jersey's for my dogs!! on: August 27, 2008 05:41:42 AM
you know I thought my dogs would hate it too.  Every time we put a regular T-shirt on TJ he would chew it off (literally).  But they actually like wearing them!  I think it's because I worked with the material and was handling it that my scent it all over it and they like that.  But don't tell my puppies they are cute...they know it and it'll go straight to their heads!

I didn't know where to put this since there isn't a pet section(which there really should be just for the sake of showing off pets!!), but I thought it would most likely fit here!

I couldn't find any Saskatchewan Roughrider football jersey's for dogs, so I thought hey! I'll just sew them for my dogs!

This one is Joey's!  I made a small one for him for this season, as he is just 9 weeks old.  And I also made him a bigger one for next season!

And this one is TJ's!  His is a bit big, but he's only 8 months old so he's still got some growing to do! Hard to imagine considering he's already 70 pounds!!

I sewed them, and then I used an iron on transfer for the name, numbers and logos.

Any comments or criticism is appreciated!

27  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Sewing buttons on my machine on: August 25, 2008 07:10:58 PM
I was practicing tonight sewing buttons on my machine, i've always done it by hand before but it looks so much easier on the machine.  Everytime I tried to do it though my thread got all junked up  under in the bobbin area.  Is my tension off or what is the problem?  Thanks!

I always pin backwards... Embarrassed i'm trying to force myself to pin the other way, but it's just natural now..
29  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / pocket journal on: August 25, 2008 10:16:51 AM
So I am planning to make a craft journal to document all my crafts.  I want to have on one side of the page it to be blank so I can put a picture on there along with notes about the project (pro's, con's, lessons learnt!) and on the other side a pocket to put in patterns or printed out tutorials or extra pictures.  I have no idea how I could even start this.  Any help is appreciated!
