1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Joanne Sensations Kashmira Yarn on: April 09, 2009 03:57:11 PM
I am very sad...  It looks like Joanne has discontinued their Kashmira yarn  Embarrassed  This is my FAVORITE to work with, and I love it for dyeing.

Does anyone know of a yarn that approximates the construction/weight of the Kashmira?  It is about sport weight, and is 5 2-plies cabled together.  It is very soft, bouncy and squishy.

I really hope I can find a substitute!!
2  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / So, I found this spinning wheel on Craigslist... on: January 15, 2009 09:54:04 AM
... But I would like opinions on it before I drive 2 hours to go see and possibly buy it.  Would you consider buying this? http://gainesville.craigslist.org/clt/978658335.html

I did email them and ask for more pictures.  If I get a response, I will post those here too Smiley
3  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / My New Diz! on: August 09, 2008 03:38:18 AM
I am dangerous at Home Depot (or any home improvement store for that matter).  I end up seeing things and thinking of the oddest ways to use them.  My husband usually ends up dragging me out of there so I don't blow the budget  Tongue

Well, I saw this at the checkout, and said "Hey!  That would make a GREAT diz!"  Since it was free, he let me have THAT one, LOL

4  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Completed Projects / Bloo Raspberry Mohair on: June 03, 2008 06:27:43 PM
Well, I can't post pics yet, so here is a link to it

It is mohair from Sheep Shed Studio, dyed with McCormick's neon blue.  I'm planning to core spin this over some blue/black striped singles whenever I find some time to spin (hopefully soon.)  Eventually it will become a hat for my daughter Smiley
5  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Florida native wool? on: May 21, 2008 09:28:23 PM
Hi everyone!  I'm new here, so I will give a quick intro...  Hi my name is Kathie, and I'm a fiber junkie.  I've been spinning on a drop spindle (self taught) for about 3 months, and I've taken to it like a duck to water!                                      So now my question...  I have a chance to buy as many florida native fleeces as I want for $5 EACH FLEECE! Each fleece is about 4-6 lbs.  So, have any of you spun wool from the florida native sheep?  What are the properties of this wool like?  Thanks in advance for any info you can give :-)
