31  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: stained glass beginner... on: August 21, 2009 06:11:08 PM
That's really nice. When I joined a class, we had to use lead for our first design.  I'm glad we did that but after the first couple of small pieces, I was glad to move to copper foil.

That looks super.  I've made a few of these and I use water based urethane to seal them....the stuff that's used on floors.  I think they recommend the oil based product to prevent yellowing but I don't like to use it myself.  I've never used a lot of white so maybe that would affect your decision?

Anyhow, it's a bit addictive so I'm sure you'll be doing more  Cheesy

I love these and had to look it up......... so for others who want to do this, see here:  http://www.wordle.net/

It's a lot of fun to fool around with and I really like the way yours turned out.

Those are so cool.  What's nicer and more comforting than that "new flannel" feeling.  What a good friend you are! Cheesy

We tried this a few times, either the masking fluid gripped the paper and tore chunks of it away, or I chose images that were too detailed Sad  I am going to persevere with it tho!

Are you sure you used masking fluid? There is something called Masking Medium which is permanent and not meant to be removed.
