1  Re: 13 Days of Halloween Round 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by DragonFly4 on: October 01, 2009 05:50:25 PM
OK- please excuse the crappy pictures- We had to go out of town VERY last minute, so in the midst of getting the house ready, packing and what not, I had to take pictures of everything so I could post them while I was away. And of course my camera was already packed, so I snapped these with my phone- which has like the worst camera ever, I plan on retaking them when I get back since these things are just too awesome to post crappy pictures of!!!

All the pretty wrapped packages. My kids came in and saw all these sitting on the table and all wished me a Happy Birthday- which is kinda funny since my birthday wasn't even a month before this. But honestly, this was better than birthday presents!!!

Day 13

A black glitter Halloween Tree. I have wanted a Halloween Tree FOREVER!!! Especially black glitter- WOW I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!! The ornaments are super cute too, my friend saw them when she dropped by something while we were gone, and thought I had put jewelry on the tree to dress it up!

To see better pictures go to her post http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=325392.0.

Day 12

This was my candy day. 12 cute bags each with lots of candy inside, which included almond joys, peanut butter m&Ms- which are both my absolute favorite! Peanut m&ms, caramel apple suckers in different flavors of apples- granny smith, macintosh, and golden delicious- YUMM- ha vent seen the different flavors before. Oh there was candy corn, plastic spider rings and stickers too.

Day 11
Scrapbook Items day.

Different scrapbook papers and embellishments. Cant wait to make cute stuff with all of this!

Day 10

Baking day (for the most part.) Recipes, recipe cards, sugar cookie mix, cookie cutters, potion oil diffuser, witch brew candle holder, cute paper plates, fabric, orange hot cocoa, cute cat coasters, and cake stencils from my wist.

Day 9
In my kids words- this day was the "super awesome of all!!!" So many things off my wists, and I absolutely ADORE these!!!

Butterfly hair piece that is so awesome- It was on my wists- but I never in a million years thought I would get it from a swap!

Beaded spider necklace. Also on my wists- turned out so good and will totally go with my costume.

The other items from this day. Skeleton clips are from my wists.

Awesome chunky charm bracelet. I really love how full it is!! Also pictured is the button necklace. I have charm bracelets like this on my wists, but this one totally blow those away!!!

Candy corn clippies- I actually had some like these on a list of things I wanted to make but will probably not have time to do- my girls both claimed them and love them. Then there are brooch/pins which my kids have also run off with.

This day just totally makes the swap. I told my Husband that if I had only received this day in exchange for everything I sent it would still totally be worth it!!! Thank you so much Snazzlecraft- I LOVE them!!!

Day 8

More scrapbooking/embellishment goodness!

Day 7

Cute little pumpkin bath scrubby that was part of the packaging.

A pumpkin carving kit. I have always wanted to get one and try it out. I am especially excited for the scrapper- we usually end up scraping for hours with our kitchen spoons, and they get bent- I am especially excited because we are carving pumpkins tonight. Oh- it also has lights to put in the pumpkins and a trick or treat door hanger.

Day 6

3 halloween pictures in mats- My Dad (who is an amateur photographer loved these!)

3 witchy sayings (all off my wists!)

Day 5

jack-o-lantern serving tray and silicone baking trays, pumpkin egg timers (My kids had fun setting this and then hiding it!), a kitchen towel that I didnt realize was backwards in the picture- it is SO cute, and once it comes out of the wash (Baby got frosting all over it) I will try to get a picture up. It had a cute witch hat on it. And a super cute apron. It has a witch on one of the pockets and a cute saying on the other. It definitely saved me while I was in my costume and trying to prepare the food for our party. I got tons of complements on it!

Day 4

Labels printed onto sticker paper for my potions, A cute purple/silver glittery witch hat, a super cute handmade crow- from fabric and wire, and an awesome spell book- which I absolutely love- from my wists.

Day 3

Some fabric, a cute framed, embroidered halloween saying, and an awesome pumpkin guy which she commissioned her mom to make for us. He was my Hubbys favorite item from the swap!

Day 2

A halloween wreath! Black feathers, purple tombstones, silver skeletons plus more goodness- so adorable!

BOO! Super cute! Absolutely love the spider hanging down! Got so many complements! It is pretty big too!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnn nnnnnnnnnnnnnnndddd ddddddddddd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 1!!!!

A poppet witch! Or a Witch Poppet? I absolutely ADORE her!!! Cute little corset dress, potion necklace, boots, leggwarmers, lace underwear, witch hat, and spider in her hair! Sher is amazing and I just LOVE her so much! She must have taken forever. I have wanted one for a long time, but havent found the time to make one. Thank you Thank you THANK YOU Snazzlecraft!!!

Round 1 Gallery http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=250570.0

I reserve the right to deny any craftster's entrance into this swap for the following reasons...
ANY "negative" feedback comments
poor communication in past swaps
sending late in past swaps
Being a NEWBIE swapper (you must have successfully completed 1 swap prior to signing up for this one)

The idea of this swap is to craft for your partner 13 groups of items (91 items in total-it is highly encouraged that day 13 be candy or some type of baked good- Halloween related of course) based on their interests, going along with the idea of the 12 days of Xmas swap (thread for that swap: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=195682.0) You will label the packages with the numbers 13-1, so that your partner knows which days are in which packages. We will start opening the packages on October 19th with the #13 package. Inside would be 13 things. On October 20th you would open the #12 package and inside there should be 12 things. This will go on and on until on October 31st when you will open the #1 package.

Each day can have a "theme" if you want, but this is not mandatory. You could have day 5 be 5 glitter skulls, while day 6 could be a pair of earrings + a set of gift tags + a fabric headband + a tea towel + embossing powder and some handmade paper

This is a pretty big swap commitment so if you are not sure that you can fulfill the obligations please do not sign up. This swap will end up taking a lot of time/money/resources, so please plan accordingly. Some participants from the 12 days of Xmas swap said they spent a large amount of $$ in shipping alone! Also, it is VERY IMPORTANT that the packages get sent ON TIME so please make sure that you can get to the post office.

Please note:  if you are sending food/accepting food, your package will look like this approximately:
handcrafted 60% = 55 items
store bought 25%= 23 items
food/candy/baked goods: 15% = 13 items (for day 13 most likely)
and, if not,  like this: 70% (64 items) handcrafted and 30% (27 items) store bought
If you buy an item from etsy.com, a craft fair, or any other handmade site that is handmade I consider it handmade and may go into the 75% handmade list. Store bought to me implies COMMERCIALLY manufactured, mass produced and/or supplies.

Someone mentioned specifying the sizes and numbers more- so here goes- (I basically just took this from the 12 Days of Christmas swap, it seems to cover everything- so let me know if I need to be more specific or whatnot.)

Here are some more rules- that specify just how much of a COMMITMENT this swap is!

Recommendations from your swap organizer:

1. I would recommend that your day 13 be candy or treats, days 12-7 be "small" items, days 6-4 be "medium" items and days 3-1 be "large" items. Less time intensive things should be made for the larger numbered days and more time intensive projects for the smaller numbered days.

Which breaks down into-
13 candy treats (if you are accepting treats- if not it will be 70 small items)
57 small items
15 medium items
and
6 large items

Craftster's guidelines for swaps are as follows:

By Time
-Big = 3 or more hours
-Medium = 2 or more hours
-Little = 2 or less hours

By Size
-Big = A shawl, a shirt, a skirt, a set of jewelry with four to five items, a purse
-Medium = one single necklace or bracelet, a scarf
-Small = Earrings, stickers, wallets, pouches, bookmarks

By Price
-Big = $30 or more
-Medium = $10-$30 dollars
-Small = $10 or less

Shipping guidelines and info.

The RULES:

1. You must send ALL PM's to DragonFly4  and all PM's  must have the subject line: 13 Days of Halloween Swap with the words something along the lines of general question/sent/received...etc

2. You must post in the original thread at least once a week! This starts once partners are assigned. You must continue to post at least 1 time a week until October 31st.

3.PM's must be sent to DragonFly4 AND your partner when you send and receive.  If you are sending within the USA you must get a DC# and send it to DragonFly4 and your partner. They cost about an extra dollar in addition to the postage price. If you are sending outside of your country, you must keep your receipt as proof of shipping and send a picture of it to DragonFly4!!! This is mandatory!

5.When you open each days package, you will then need to post in your mini gallery. I ask that you post pictures within a reasonable amount of time. Please get them posted within 3 days of opening. All of your pictures will be posted in your mini gallery. Posting pictures is a requirement for this swap! Not posting pictures will be noted in your feedback and that can affect your ability to join this swap or other swaps in the future. It will be noted in your feedback  unless your mini gallery is filled with pictures of your 13 packages. Everyone will want to drool and covet what you get, so please share! If you don't have a digital camera and cannot get access to one, please ask your partner to take pictures before they send. (Partners may want to take pictures before they send just in case!)

6. There will be a halfway check in point and a one week to go check in point as well. I will send each of you a PM and you must reply back.

DUE TO LENGTH, QUESTIONNAIRE TO ANSWER IS POSTED IN BELOW in the 2nd REPLY!!

IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE, REMEMBER TO SEND YOUR INFO TO ORGANIZER VIA PRIVATE MESSAGE AND NOT TO REPLY WITH IT HERE.

4  Re: Viva la France (ou Francais) Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by DragonFly4 on: June 17, 2009 08:38:02 AM
Ok, according to my tracking number, my partner received 5 days ago. I havent heard from her, so I figured I would go ahead and post what I made her.
Whole package

Card

the dot towards the upper left is a big black rhinestone.

Since she lives in France, she said she didnt really care to get anything with Eiffel Towers or whatnot on it. She said she was really into French cooking, so I decided to make her things that related to cooking.

apron- BTW- her favorite colors are black and white, which is why EVERYTHING is black and white. I really wanted to do this in a Damask, but this is the most "French-ish" fabric I could find in B&W.

Pot Holders. I HATE how I am always loosing one- so I made ones that are attached, and they hang on the stove perfectly. I REALLY need to make myself some now.

Cookbook- My printer died on me, so I had to do the title by hand. However, I did not glue it in as I didnt know if she would like the hand drawn title.

Each one of these papers was a divider- I just condensed them so I didnt flood this with even more pictures than I already am. The colors really are all the same IRL. Shadows and lighting from my camera is what makes them all seem different.

I filled up the rest of the package with lots of different American candy.

OK- heres the rest of it. I already told her that even if I had doubled what I sent, and only got this picture in return- I still wouldnt have sent enough. It is just perfect and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!! She is so incredibly talented.

WOW is all I can say! Woodland_faerie has been the best swap partner EVER! Thank you so much!

OK- are you all ready to be SUPER jealouse??? Well prepare yourselves... for my package from Woodland_faerie. TONS of pictures- but thats what happens when you send a package packed full of awesomeness!!!

all of it together- there were loose fabric clovers in the package that you cant see though.

My boys and their Satyr horns and pouches. The pouches had 2 seperate pockets with their own flaps, and inside was honey for them to give the faeries and faerie stones.

Jewelry, faerie stones, embellishments, dragonfly charms.

close up of the super cute bracelet

necklace that is an oakleaf in resin, and wrapped in wire

Dragonfly clippies on bits of pink lace

my daughter decided that this is HER fairy princess hat, and has worn it everytime we have gone outside even though it is summer.

toadstools for my girls (except they are in my craft room right now and I am liking them there- tee hee.)

close up of the stitching

faerie skirt

faerie leg warmers

Close up of the stitching on the pockets. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the pockets! It is glow in the dark thread too

awesome dragonfly faerie belt

close up- same cute stitching on the wings in glow in the dark

I will post the rest (and BEST part of the whole package) after I get back from taking my daughter to Princess Summer Camp.

7  Re: Decorate My Place Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by DragonFly4 on: April 21, 2009 02:56:37 PM
So my package finally arrived. Heres what I got...

group shot minus the canopy

close up- first 2 letters in my name, princess signs, a t-rex sticker, and I think the last thing is a cross stitch pattern

2 organza bags, a kitchen towel with pears on them and cut outs of fabric fish.

heres the canopy to go over my daughters bed. Just need to finish the edges so they dont fray anymore and then I can hang it up- then I can take a better picture.
