1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / A Cute Little Bandana Dress on: March 15, 2011 05:44:32 PM

I made my daughter a cute little bandana dress today! It had been awhile since I had fired up the sewing machine, and I actually think mine might be on the outs. Still love the finished product though!

I also posted about it on my bloghttp://www.familyfriendlyfrugality.com/2011/03/tot-tuesday-make-your-own-frugal-bandana-dress/
2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Some fun things I have made lately! "lots of cute girl clothes" on: April 01, 2010 06:31:40 PM
I'm so excited to share all of these with you. I've been looking at this forum for quite awhile and always too chicken to try to make clothes on my own. I started sewing when I decided back in January that I wanted to make my daughters birthday outfit and haven't stopped since!!!

Thanks so much for being an inspiration to me!

4  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Opinions on best fabric for cloth diapers? on: March 21, 2008 09:21:26 AM
Hello all! I am new here and I wanted to ask for some advice.

I make fitted diapers. I'd love to make them for sale (it is my own pattern) but am having some issues with my fabric choice. I love all the patterns that flannel offers, but it fades soooo quickly. Anyone know of a something else that would work and wouldn't fade so much? I'd hate to sell a beautiful dipe and have someone be unhappy because of how quick it would fade Sad. Right now this is the only thing from keeping me from starting up.
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / New here ;) on: March 19, 2008 08:29:01 AM
Hey everyone! I'm new here and pretty new to knitting as well. I taught myself about a week and a half ago and have already made two hats (each one progressively better than the previous! YEY!)

This was my first, you can't see all the holes...but trust me there are plenty! I didn't really know what "dropping a stich" meant to the finished product when I made this one:

And I made this one for my nephews Horton Hears a Who birthday party. This is my little boy Noah (who will be ONE in a week! Noooooooo!) in his Dr Seuss duds:

this hat came out MUCH better...my my join was still pretty sloppy

So now I'm working on a pair of longies for my cloth diapered little guy, and I know it's a bit ambitious, but I really think I can do it! I started last night but HATED the needles I bought. They were circular Balene II needles by Boyes. The points kept bending and I finally ended off just cutting the point off, but I still hated them. I think I might buy some bamboo ones but wanted some ideas of what your favorite needles are, and any tips you might have for me!
