11  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Little Visitor Swap Round 18 - GALLERY! on: March 14, 2014 06:36:00 AM
I will probably send out Tuesday when I get paid. I'm going to miss my LV Poppy!
12  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Invite Your Partner (IYP) 25: Silver Jubilee, SU Mar 1 - 22, SO Apr 26 2014 on: March 04, 2014 04:32:18 AM
Anyone maybe want to do a scrappy journal/ altered journal book swap with me? I did one a while ago where you would make entries into a scrappy journal about various random things that happened and added bits and pieces that were to do with the things. Like if you watched your favourite show you could include the television guide page with it, or coupons for your local store etc. just seems like something's fun to do again c:

Hi guys! Long time no see! Don't worry Poppy and I are still alive!

So we have recovered from my 'surprise' that everyone will learn about when my partner gets her LV back, and ordered the photographs. They should come this week. My book is all planned and I'm just finishing up a miniature suitcase my niece and I made for Poppy. It will be sad to see her go.

I've been so busy lately, but don't worry! Poppy and I are still alive, and not only that my surprise will 99% be going ahead. It will hopefully make up for all the lack of communication from me.

On the scrapbook front I'm rather pleased with myself. I found some small notepads that are shaped like foldable miniature airmail envelopes. I've modified them to hold little notes about the photographs. I'm quite pleased with my idea, it looks like my Little Visitor wrote them for her family.

That link shows a picture of the backs of the envelopes.

And now for some photographs! We went to a nice Chinese New Year festival which was rather hot weather wise but worth going to for the sights. Poppy once again wore the red dress because it was Chinese New Year, and red or gold seemed a must to wear!

Here we are looking at some 'Authentic Bird's Nests. For making birds nest soup." I still don't know what they are made from.

I have only ever seen these at this festival. It's a whole potato, peeled and cut into a spiral shape. The spiral curl is put on a stick and then deep fried, sometimes with a coating. Lots of stalls sell them at this festival every year. The other food might change but this is a constant. It's a bit like chips with a difference.

Here we met the old Dragon used in the traditional parade around the shops, the two used each year (A long one and a two man golden one) have been around for ages. This is the longer one. He was a bit big for Poppy so we didn't go too close, but she liked all the colours of his skin.

Here is a smaller sized Dragon that Poppy found. She thought he looked much nicer.

After we got home from the Festival we watched a dvd I bought there: The original Pokemon movie. I remember seeing that as a child and had to get it. It wasn't too scary for Poppy so she watched it as well.

Hi guys! Here's an update that's been a while! Sorry I've been so busy here with summer and heat and doctor's and health and getting ready for next month. I think next month if it works will make up for my lack of communication! Anyway!

We have been trying to stay cool here, this week it will be up near the 40c mark and I hate that amount of heat. So we've been shopping, watching movies (We watched Frozen! hehe) And making ice teas and things. Also lots of forms for next month are being done.

This photo is one of an (upsidedown) map of the big bay in the capital city of the state I live in (I live in a very outermost suburb of the outer city). It was very Sandy but on this walk on the cliffs was information about the town so we took a few photos of various bits and pieces of history

And here we are near some rock pools where we found a funny little blue and orange Star Fish. Poppy thought it looked more like a spider but friendlier. We didn't disturb him though.

Hopefully one of my two New Years Resolutions will happen next month. It's also something Poppy can partake in. Fingers crossed as its almost all planned and ready to go. Eeeehk!

I have received my second parcel, this one from QueenNinjaMonkey. And it was another awesome swap parcel! This one has whimsies so prepare for photos galore to show them all. The very last one might not be safe for work so I'll put a warning before it.

Candy! The brew is something from my pinterest I'm gonna save with the candy corn from Stillatthetop to have with my friend next month. The other chocolate was yummy *coughs*

Whimsy coffin! And some cool handmade extras! The first thing I pulled out was the Beetleguise Minion. After having to go to the dentist to fix a broken tooth today he was a new friend to come home to. I love his little smile. He's making friends with my voodoo/juujuu cross dresser doll right now. The magnetic skulls are decorating my desk bin with is metal and that hoop needs a place too.

Whimsy unveiling.

Halloween Whimsies (Zombie with a brain hehe) Animal Whimsies, Teenie toy soldiers, some are on horses and food Whimsies.

Random whimsies. Round Whimsies (There is the tiniest photo locket for a doll in there!), Pendant whimsies and flat whimsies.

AND NOW THE SLIGHTLY MATURE ONE! Now this one has some of the whimsies that stood out most to me, like the teenie wheenie black crow, but I love them all. And also included is a pencil topper, shaped in the form of the male genitalia. for some reason I love comedy uses of the aforementioned genitals ( bachelorette party straws and headwear, chapstick cosies, underwear with elephant trunks are funny to me. So this one made me giggle.)

Thank you to Both my partners for awesome parcels! Each was different from the other and perfect in its own way!

First: that crazy crow painting. Really weird. I love it. What a unique style. I am glad she is "spreading her wings" to try something new. She loves crows. I hate them. But on canvas they are OK. Just not in my gardens.
I love the symbolism of crows to me. The movie The Crow showed me they aren't just pests to peoples gardens, they are said to be good luck or help guide someone after they pass in some cultures. Plus they are smart! I once read that a hungry crow was trying to pick up all these crackers in the middle of a tough winter, and it figured out it could stick them in the snow next to each other so they stuck straight up ( like |||) and pick them all up that way to take back to its nest. That's a smart birdy.

The wooden things I think are for putting up the painting, but I never understand how that works to be honest  Roll Eyes

And I don't like war either, but over here when we eat anzac biscuits biscuits on special days we do so to remember the sacrifices some people make (especially in the World Wars) to try and protect us. Plus, they are rather tasty with a hot drink and last a long time, which doesn't hurt I guess.  Wink

My items from Stillatthetop. She wasn't able to send her main item but we will make that up later.

Christmas tree decorations. Angel, Stars, reindeer from puzzle pieces (That's actually really cool! on Stillatthetops pinterest), gingerbread man. We don't normally need to put decorations on our tree as it has lots of lights. Wink

Voodoo Juju Doll. (He's a crossdresser XD). I love this it's really cool and odd, in a good way! Oogey Boogey Bugs. A horse made from string that is now a cat toy. And a tiny stocking with a little baby toy inside. (I like creepy baby toys) It's so hilarious and cute just peeking out like that. Tongue

Candy! Practical jokes (Which are funny to read) and I think that's a valentines day coupon book.

More candy! Zombie face lollipop, candy blood with fangs, Reese's pieces! Cheesy

I think those Crabby patties got in twice :O But more candy! I love me candy. And I'm gonna save that lemonhead for them I see my friend in Feb, it's an inside joke between us.

I love it all! Too bad the main wasn't finished in time but the items I got are very cool c: Thank you Stillathetop!

HAPPY MERRY JOYFUL DECEMBER 25th!

I'm a poo for not being able to post as much as I want, but I've been so busy helping with volunteering for christmas. I did get to go to the beach clifftop today for christmas dinner. Poppy came with me. I got some rather nice shots with my phone, as my camera decided it didn't want to work. I need to take it to the doctor.  Roll Eyes

With a flower from the walk from the shops area to the clifftop.

And with Dinner, cold roast lamb sandwich from Lunch! We ate all this and fed some of the apple core to the seagulls.

This young seagull kept coming very close. His eyes were slightly scary as they were all black. He got the most apple being the most bold.

Looking into the evening sun.

One of my best photos yet I think.
