I'm not able to get the pictures I've taken off my camera onto here, but I do have some photos from Poppy. (Sorry I haven't been on been a super busy week with the Birthday and hospital studies and everything)

We had coffee with my mum at a nice little place that is next to a bakery that sells butterfly cupcakes with a difference. Instead of cream they have homemade custard (Like what you will get in custard tarts)! I haven't had one in years! We enjoyed it lots!

'Arty' shot of the world vision christmas donation pig. Every year we donate to one of the charities and this year I had the idea of each of us in my house putting a dollar in a tin each week and at the end of the ear we will buy our holiday cards from charity (The ones that say "The money from this card has gone towards the gift of a mosquito net for a family in a country with high risk of malaria" or such. )

today is a day off, but it's cold and wet outside. So me and Poppy sat back with some cups of hot chocolate and marshmallows and a friendly cat to snuggle* (sorry for distorted image)

Poppy was super tired after her big trip, even through it seemed very fast! But she did have time to look at one thing before sleeping.

She came in a little sleeping bag but was interested in something I had made based on a picture my niece and nephew had drawn and explained to me. I give you Poppy in the Rabbit Safety seat.

I had some left over duct tape from halloween so thought I could make it for her. They had drawn the picture last weekend explaining that it was to keep a rabbit safe in her journeys, like a seat on a ride. The cool thing is the left over duct tape helped me figure out a way to make their second idea work. The seat glows in the dark so Poppy can always be found and have a nightlight in case she is scared to sleep (their words!)

16  Re: Little Visitor Swap Round 18 CLOSED (SU: 10/20-10/25; SO 10/29, and 3/1/14) in ACTIVE SWAPS WHERE SIGN-UP PERIOD HAS CLOSED by deadbathducky on: October 28, 2013 04:02:24 AM
I was a bit eager and sent before lunch today. It was cold and Bean wanted to get used to the weather, so we went for lunch (Hungry Jacks because Bean wanted a burger with a pickle before she left. I told her they do have burgers over in the UK but she was sceptical) and then off she went. She also helped me find my polaroid 300 instant camera while she was getting ready so I can use that for the scrapbook! Yay!  Wink

AD and his girlfriend are so cute! My little adipose is sitting on my shelf with my tardis xD

I wanted to add one more photo, hope you guys don't mind. Bean has a best friend, Melanie Price, who Bean says keeps doggies away who hurt kitties (nice doggies are fine she says Cheesy) They met at the shops buying halloween candy and Melanie came home with us. She won't be going with Bean through, I just thought I would show how fearless little Bean is  Tongue

( and yes, Melanie Price is a little zombie toy from The Walking Dead) Wink

Can anyone tell I cannot wait for this swap? XD

19  There's a Fairy House in my garden (Pictures galore) in CHALLENGE 90 ENTRIES by deadbathducky on: September 04, 2013 10:14:08 PM
NOTE: Extra information about how I made it is in purple if you want to read about how I made this :3

So I just returned to Craftster a few weeks ago from a hiatus, and while waiting to Angel thought I'd do this challenge when I saw it, since my backyard is tiny too. It's not perfect but I like it. I may even send it to a friend in New Zealand. This took me about 4 series of Daria and a few shows of Jeff Dunham to make. lol So I give you

The Little Fairy House in my Garden.

I wanted to make a fairy house for a while, and decided this was the perfect chance. It's actually all made from crafting stuff around my house. The outside is not grass, but some 'modelling' grass and foliage I found in my dad's old miniature railway kits. He used to make those small scale train and model sets, and I went through his stuff in the garage and found some old bags. I thought if I used this I could probably send this overseas if I ever wanted to make more because it is made from foam and is not plant material.

So I started with an old decoration I had lying around. I pulled off the cardboard outside and  began to cover the outside with the modelling grasses. I used the main "Mixed grass" first, then added little bits of the more bushy stuff to cover little imperfections. I only had super glue to work with and no real tools so I did it a bit at a time.
I then worked on making some tiny flowers. I punched out some paper petals and glued them to some florist wire I had to use my fingers for this too, no tweezers. I found if I had a little pile of glue I could just dip the ends of the petals in the glue and add them one by one.

I then worked on the roof. Basically cardboard in a cone shape covered with fake leaves from a bunch of pretend roses I found. I put grass on the inside to make it more realistic And then I made a little mushroom from some polyclay and painted it up to look like those little mushrooms with the raised white dots on top. I also decided a fairy needs a light to see by, so got one of those Fake tea candles, pulled it apart and made it into a little light. The fake flowers from before came in handy. I used one to make the light more "Fairyish". I also made the light separate because I wanted to be able to remove the batteries once they die out. The light flickers a little and has a warm glow which looks cool, much like candlelight

So Now I had to assemble the roof, add the little mushroom and sort out a door. I made it basically the same way as the roof, holding the cardboard to the main part to get it to dry in that curved way. It's hard to see, but I also put grass and foliage on the inside of the house to match the roof parts. Plus it seems like something fairies might like instead of plastic. You can also see how I used my petal punch to make a sort of window. In the main pictures you can see how the light comes through it well c:

Then it just became a matter of fixing up little bits and pieces, adding the tiny roses (I decided on red ones to go with the mushroom. They kind of look like a tiny windowbox) and adding bits and pieces like the window parts, little bits of extra grass and so on. You can see that it is under 4 inches as well Cheesy

So there you have it. A Little Tiny Fairy house for a tiny little garden. Hope you enjoyed  Thanks for reading all that information XD

20  Fuse beads: Project with the nephew and niece. (5 images) in Beads: Completed Projects by deadbathducky on: August 26, 2013 07:37:35 PM
My brother came to me lately and asked if I could do some art projects with my nephew (6) and Niece (4). Apart from kinder and school art they spend most of their time asking to go onto a computer or watch television so he thought I could get them interested in something else. I decided to share a crafty love I haven't done for years, Fuse beads! after much coaxing my niece agreed to do /one/ craft with me. This is only some of the things we ended up making, and my nephew joined in too. They now love making special magnets and pendants and even been asking about different types of colours and things such as fluros and glow in the dark and what they do. It also helps with their hand/eye skills and even my parents get in on the making so everyone has fun.

 Excuse my horrible table

This was one of the first ones. Her name starts with S and she decided she wanted it to glow in the dark. After doing the S I only needed to help keep the beads on she was hooked. She made about 4 of these but took the rest before I could take a photo lol. We even left a gap in the beads so it could be threaded and worn or hung up.

I did these, and of course the hand was not done in their company but later on. Tongue

Here are some more I did with the nephew. Because he was a little older I thought he could do some harder ones. He liked making the dinosaur the most.

And one more thing because I am proud of it. I kinda didn't have a pattern so I went by trial and error. A 3d mini gameboy! I even have a slot in the back for a game cartridge!
