Very pretty and looks like it fits you well - great job!

Great job on them! The fit looks great on you.

I have the shorts all cut out and sitting on my sewing table...perhaps I will start on them tonight??  I went down a size to just the hip measurement, so I hope I went down enough.

Wow, you did a fantastic job!  I really, really want that blue jacket.  Seriously.

Thanks ladies! Smiley

I always enjoy your work. They're all so cool and unique and I love cool and unique. I have a question, one the pink and easter one, the ruffly part is not gathered is it a circle/flounce and how did you do that?

You are in luck - I did a tutorial on it:

The skirt is basically a circle skirt on top of a gathered skirt.

Hey there!  Well, here is what I have thus far for my DD's summer wardrobe.  I need to focus on my DS now, but I might sneak in a few more things for her.  The only thing here I didn't draft myself was the t-shirts, which I just appliqued.  I was getting lazy.

DD's birthday dress.  She chose the tulle and the fabric.  I made it very twirly.

Close up of the bodice and skirt

Blue twirly outfit - the artwork of the applique I drew myself.

Close up of the details

Pink twirly outfit

Easter oufit

Twirly skirt - made to match a RTW shirt

Now onto the rompers - I have these zipped up the front so it is easier during potty time.  The cream one is shirred in the back so it is easy to get off, too.

Thanks for looking and I'd love to hear your comments! Smiley

I love how you painted the motif on the dress.  They both look fabulous on you!

It looks fabulouse on you...great job!

It seems like some silk just frays more than others.  I have worked with a lot of different kinds and some frays incredibly bad and some are just fine.  It's fun to work with though!

Thanks so much everyone!  Grin

I love the cross front top, can I ask you about the pattern. is it 3 pieces, two front and one back, with the one that is gathered into the side being simply longer than the other side. Or is it in more than one section, I am not sure if I see a seamline on the red one.

they look great on you though, very flattering.

I must hunt through my patterns. i could use a bunch of them for my summer travels.

This really is a simple shirt to sew.  I have made up a tutorial on how to draft and sew one, and after making the first one it only takes about an hour, cut to finish:

the cross front top is beautiful!  what pattern is it?

Thanks!  I actually drafted it from a long-sleeved RTW cross front top I already owned.  I think Jalie has a pattern for one that is supposed to fit good, though.

Thanks!

Very nice!  I have to ask, where did you find the lace print fabric?  I remember buying (and using) some red and black lace print over 10 years ago, but I haven't seen anything like it anywhere since.

I buy most of my fabric from local warehouse fabric stores here, so probably not helpful, but it was at Mill End Textiles.
