1  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Spooky-Glam Halloween Wreath on: October 17, 2014 07:11:18 PM
I made this wreath for kittykill for the 13 days of Halloween swap.  It's a little spooky and a little glam!

I wrapped a straw wreath form with some lacy ribbon, then wrapped again with some black eyelash yarn which added some fun texture.  I stretched some spider webbing across the top and made a little bunting adding the word 'boo'.

Then added a paper flower, the glittered 'P' over the top of a black doily and some small silver flowers to anchor the bunting.

I love making wreaths and this one was no exception.  I hated to part with it.
As always, thanks for looking!
2  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Birdcage Graveyard on: October 17, 2014 06:53:22 PM
I made this spooky little graveyard for kittykill for the 13 days of Halloween swap!  I picked up the birdcage Michael's, not really sure what I was going to do with it but decided to create a little scene inside of it and I'm so pleased with the result.

I made a tombstone out of polymer clay and made a beaded garland for the bottle brush tree. I covered the bottom with moss, using a piece of cereal box as a base.  Then added little buttons and jewels to complete the scene.

Then I painted a wooden candlestick and glued it to the bottom and also added a little pom pom fringe around the outside to add a little decorative touch.

This was a super fun project!  Thanks for looking!
3  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Haunted Shadowbox on: October 17, 2014 06:43:06 PM
I made this shadowbox for kittykill for the 13 days of Halloween swap. I really had a lot of fun making this.  I hope to make more!

Most of the things I used I had on hand.  The pumpkinhead guy is a sticker that I attached to a spool so he would stand up.

I added this little paper bunting along the bottom and a bit of sparkle with a silver pipe cleaner.

Thanks for looking!
4  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Spookified ornaments on: October 17, 2014 06:27:05 PM
I stitched up a couple of ornaments for kittykill in the 13 days of Halloween swap.  I took two Sublime patterns and spookified them a bit.  I like how they turned out and it was fun to transform them!

I turned one of the Dream Homes into a haunted house....

....complete with a little ghost.

Then I used one of the matryoska dolls and zombified her with her a little blood drip

...and jack-o-lantern face along the bottom.

I backed them with some Halloween fabric.

These were really fun to stitch.  Thanks for looking!!

5  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Vintage Cat Cross Stitch Ornament on: October 17, 2014 06:12:47 PM
I made this wee cross stitch ornament for I Sew Cute in the OTT October Holidays Swap.  It's such a great pattern and was fun to stitch! I stitched it on some scrap linen I had on hand and made it into a little ornament complete with a little rick rack!

The pattern is from Stitches From the Heartland that I scored at the thrift store for a quarter!

I wanted to share the Frankenstein cross stitch I made for kittykill in the mini 13 days of Halloween swap!  He was a lot of work but so worth it.  Just look at the grin. Thanks for looking!

The pattern is from Stoney Creek Collections that I scored at the thrift store for 50 cents!

7  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Little Rainbow Vespa on: June 22, 2014 04:49:57 PM
I made this for my partner in the twinchie needlework swap!  She loves Vespas and rainbows so I stitched up a little Vespa blowing rainbows out the back!  It's a small piece, about two inches wide.  I hooped it up and added a little piece of eyelet along the bottom and wrapped the hoop with ribbon.  I love how it turned out.

8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Team Duckie--Pretty In Pink on: July 31, 2011 09:34:54 AM
I stitched this for a swap--a fellow Pretty In Pink lover.  We would both have chosen Duckie.   He had a much better fashion sense than Blaine--as noted by the rad shoes he wore.

Thanks as always for taking a look.
9  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Tara McPherson pattern on: April 17, 2011 11:05:07 AM
I finally got around to stitching up some the awesome Tara McPherson patterns.  I stitched it on a linen I found at a thrift store with a cute crochet border.

I love the little stars.
