21  Re: Coraline Rd 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by fiberartsy on: October 11, 2009 12:26:28 PM
Wow guys... Everything looks awesome! I received an AMAZING package from Fiberartsy... I've got serious swap anxiety now! I won't be able to post pics until I get Internet here, since my phone won't upload to craftster photo hosting- but if fiberartsy wants to post some til I can get mine up I'd love that! Internet should be here on the 13th still.

You guys will not BELIEVE the detail she put into my package! I just sit and stare at the large item sometimes Cheesy

thank you SO MUCH fiberartsy!!!

I'm so glad you like everything! I'll post a few pics and you can add more later once you get your internet all set up!  So here goes:
Spink and Forcible necklace

Little wooden box

with ornaments in it.  I figured it was close enough to Christmas.  There is a rag doll Coraline, Wybie, Cat, Scotty dog and chicken oven mitt

And then an embroidered pillow.  First side has Coraline going through the tunnel to Other Mother's house.  I also added the key.

Other side has Other Mother and the three ghost children on it.  I love this piece and really had a hard time giving it up!!

Again, I'm so glad you like it all Melvinator. This swap was so fun to craft for!

The coral looks great!  I envy your french knot ability!

Greenlightgo asked me to post what sundayafternoonhous ewife added to her nature themed towel.  A pretty butterfly and flower.  Now I'm off to begin adding to it!

Here is my addition to sundayafternoonhous ewife's towel.  She wanted us to do things that represented our states like flowers, birds etc.  So I did the outline of NC (in Carolina blue), a dogwood flower which is our state flower and the Hatteras lighthouse.  I'm sending it on it's way tomorrow!    I am loving everything that everyone has stitched so far.  Some real creativity!

Super cute birdies!!  I finished my design and will probably get it in the mail on Monday unless I can somehow magically make it to the PO tomorrow.  The design is my own.  I think it goes perfectly with my theme of no theme.  Sorry about the not so great pic.  I'm have to buy a new camera soon.  I can't wait to see what everyone stitches!

25  The Leaky Cauldron in Needlework: Completed Projects by fiberartsy on: August 22, 2009 09:41:05 AM
I made this for my friend.  We love Harry Potter so I wanted to do this for her new place.  It's black thread on 16 count aida.  I got the pattern here: http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/features/crafts/needlework/leakysign

And here's the frame i found for $4 that I think looks great with it.  Looks a little worn and rustic--perfect for the Leaky Cauldron.

As always--thanks for looking!!!!!

26  Bee towel in Needlework: Completed Projects by fiberartsy on: August 08, 2009 03:46:31 PM
I made this towel for my bf's mom for her birthday.  I held out several of my patterns and he liked the bee one from Aunt Martha's so that's what i did.  I wanted bright summery colors!

I love the cute face!

Thanks!

27  Rockin' Rooster in Needlework: Completed Projects by fiberartsy on: July 24, 2009 05:54:37 AM
I made this towel for my mom's birthday. She likes roosters because they remind her of her father.  So she collects rooster things for her kitchen.  I'll give it to her tonight--hope she likes it!  The pattern is a good 'ol Aunt Martha's.

I kept thinking of that movie Rock-a Doodle when I was stitching it.

The little adoring fan is cute too.
I'll have to do the other days for another occasion.

Thanks for looking!!  I really appreciate you guys!

28  "They Live" cross stitch (possibly NSFW--one cuss word) in Needlework: Completed Projects by fiberartsy on: July 13, 2009 06:28:01 PM
Well I finally finished this thing.  I started it several months ago and had meant it be for my bf's birthday----back in May.  I finally got some free time to finish it up.  It's a quote from the movie They Live.  If you haven't see it---get to the video store/netflix whatever NOW!  It's is awesome.  Here it is.

It has shotguns for kickin maximum ass, special glasses with which to see aliens and subliminal messages, the aliens as they look through said glasses and of course, an empty gumball machine.  I'm pretty pleased with it even though it's got some mistakes.  The hardest thing about cross stitch to me is the counting.  Go figure.  I always seem to get something off track.  BF liked it so that's all that matters to me.  Thanks as always for looking ya'll!!

29  Bird anatomy in Needlework: Completed Projects by fiberartsy on: May 29, 2009 06:53:43 AM
I made this for the anatomy themed swap over on the Phat Quarter flickr group. http://www.flickr.com/groups/phatquarter/  I searched several different animal types before settling on a bird because birds are pretty much awesome.

 It's about 5" x 7"

Pretty interesting innards.

Thanks for looking!

30  More Tea Towels!! in Needlework: Completed Projects by fiberartsy on: May 09, 2009 10:26:12 AM
I thought I'd show the towels I made for the Tea Towel swap too!!  i only have pics of two of them because my camera seems to not want to unload the third one for some reason.  Anyway---
There's an owl cookie jar.  I used variegated thread for the vines and I like the way it looks! Its an Aunt Martha's pattern.

I love his eyes.

Then there is a 50's atomic pattern.  i tried to use some of the same colors that were in the stripes of the towel.  I even used some metallic thread for one of the starbursts.

The third one was a 50's housewife cooking on a stove.  You can see it here if you want http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=302222.20

Thanks for looking.  You guys are great.
