I used a fake coconut drinking cup from walmart and painted it green; a cylinder piece of foam and painted it red, and chopped off the pointier edges of 2 chopsticks and glued them at an angle to the 'olive.' A glue gun worked the best for all the attachments needed on this project.

i dont have any before photos unfortunately, but it used to be an ugly lamp with a cover picturing weird stuffed animals, and there was actually a teddy bear nailed to the base from its butt... yyyeah, weird. but i saw potential, and paid 5 bucks.

it was so worth it.

Im still debating if i want to add some poker chips along the base, or some playing cards somewhere to distract from all the white going on. But thus far, i am very pleased with my mission complete.

hooray for my first crafty post!! i've been crafting on and off for the past year, but ive never had the chance to post what ive made, so here's what i made last night!! my friend is turning 21, and since we're both music junkies, and she doesnt drink (!), i thought a record purse would be ideal for her.

minus the glue gun and gluesticks i already had, this project cost me only about $3.50 to make!!

it took me a little over an hour and a half to make it, just because the glue gun i was using was enourmous and i kept burning my fingers  but no worries, lol. this is the first purse i made like this, so the construction is a little poopy as you get a more up close look, but i am thoroughly proud of it and hope that my friend will enjoy it. Let me know what you guys think!!

vargas is pretty amazing! i have one of his books that im tempted to cut up and use for crafty things, but its such an awesome book that i can never bring myself to do it.
but this makes me want to cut up my book, lol.
