i'm not entirely sure of this, but i think it might be your oven.  i used to have an oven whose temperature was slightly off, and it always wound up getting too hot, and my cookies would turn out like that or worse.  you could try fiddling around with temperatures and baking times and see what works with your oven.

this is my tattoo, which i got a year ago in Missoula, MT at Altered Skin.  the original design is auspice maria, which means, "under the protection of mary," but i took the design and doodled around with it, adding a flower.  it's on the small of my back, between my back dimples.  i love love love it, and it makes me smile every time i catch a glimpse of it in a mirror.
