1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Brothers Grimm Swap GALLERY on: August 04, 2011 04:22:13 PM
Wham! Amazing package received from textilejnkie! Prepared to be jealous!!

First is JAM! It contains the blood from the "girl without hands" from her stumps. Also with the jar, are with beautiful paper with red apples in the corner. They're for the notes exchanged  under the shades of the orchard.

Next! She weaved these HERSELF! Crazy awesome! The pattern represents  Rose red's attempt to find a pure white rose on her bush!

AND THEN! Here's a lovely tote bag, with a embroidered and painted bird from the juniper tree! I absolutely love it and can't wait to show it off to everyone!

And these beautiful earrings and pendant are the gifts from Thrushbeard to his beggar bride. Sadly these photo's don't show the beautiful colour they are. They're a lighter green than what is shown!

Then to top it all off, I get to keep that wonderful apple stamp that graced the papers I got, and it represents basically all the grimms fairy tales. And then included with that is a bird stamp, for the bird in juniper tree!

Thank you Textilejnkie! LOVE EVERYTHING!!!!
2  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Brothers Grimm Swap-SU June10-23 SO July 23 on: July 21, 2011 07:43:10 PM
I snuck my project into work to hem while on conference calls.  *shhhhhh don't tell!*
I got most of the way through my large, and I am really afraid that my partner will hate it.  So I've been stalled on that and finishing up other stuff while I try to figure out what to do with it.

I'm pretty sure it's gonna be epically awesome, don't worry Wink. I am super excited to receive as well as my package being received! And the items already in the gallery are pretty awesome!

I'm off camping, but I'm bringing the last item along with me to finish, so hopefully I'll be able to send when I get back =D

I grabbed a copy of the Fairy Tales from the library (easy since I work there) and I'm reading through them. So surprised to realize how many of them I know, just under a different name!

I know how you feel.
I know all of them by different names - Fearlack in place of the boy who did not know the definition of fear.
The True Bride in place of the True Sweetheart.

I was surprised to find ones that weren't on the list that I swear were in the Grimm's book when I was little that I Loved as some of my favorites.
The Glass Mountain
The Solder and Death - still an all time favorite
East of the Sun West of the Moon
Hans the Hedgehog
Sapsorrow

I can't wait to see how everyone crafts stories and which ones people choose to craft.

I have the same thing, I had to look through the Blue Fairy Book to find East of the Sun West of the Moon, and I noticed some tales that I also loved but didn't see in the other Grimm Book, maybe they're not Grimms but other fairy tales, either way they're faboolus! I've already started crafting and you should see the mess of a craft room I have now =P

This is definitely a swap for me! I absolutely love the brother grimm fairy tales, I have an unabridged addition of a lot of the fairy tales, I don't know if it has all of them, but I find a lot of them are very similar in the story line, but it still is so much fun reading the different tales. I'm totally in for this swap, just have to send in the questionnaire =)
8  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: Wool Dog Coats on: November 08, 2010 05:32:21 AM
They look awesome, and they're probably really warm which the dogs will always love. It's so much fun making clothing for dogs!
9  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Aliens and Robots, Oh my! on: July 04, 2010 10:47:16 AM
So just recently a friend of mine asked me to make a little green man from Toy story, and I said yes. So here he is =)

Sorry for the blurriness/flash, I couldn't get any good pictures that day =P

Near christmas time, I was crocheting different characters and my brother wanted me to make a bender, so I tried crocheting him at first, but I was getting no where. So I made him out of a grey sweater and my brother was really happy when he opened up his present and saw Bender. =)

Again, sorry for the terrible pics. Maybe it's just me =P
