I am trying to find a pattern for a bag. it had one strap shorter than the other and you would thread the longer strap thru the shorter one and carry it by the longer strap also. does any one know what it is called and where to find the picture of it?
thanks!

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Help with a sweater on: September 16, 2007 03:20:04 AM
My hubby has a sweater that is like 12 yrs old he loves it. He never asks or wants knitted items but he recently asked if I could copy it. well a found a pattern that is a match except it is in stockinette and he likes the moss stitch that the sweater is in. Is there anything that I would have to change in the pattern if I do the different stitch? (as long as I check the guage that is).
thanks Grin

Has anyone designed their own patterns? I was wondering also if there are any good books that give you a basic idea for sizing and a general formula for knitted items.
thanks for any help
p.s. I am trying to make a sweater for my favorite aunt who had a nasty kind of colon cancer and now has to wear a colostomy bag due to the large amount of parts that they had to take out. so she needs long baggy clothes because it shows otherwise.

8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Knitty's swell and mittens to match on: November 19, 2006 11:38:24 AM
I finished this a few weeks ago just in time for the really cold weather!

I used the chart provided for the hat and a template for the mittens and combined the two. This was my first attempt at fair-isle knitting or norwegian knitting.
here are the links to the patterns I used.

P.S. don't use the wave chart at helloyarns if you want the mittens to match the hat it is a little different.
