Oooh that face.... so cute and vicious. I wish I could take him to Akon with me.
2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / My First and Last Poppet on: May 11, 2008 03:27:31 AM
Actually... this is my first and second (latest) Poppet. I'm taking a break cause there's only so many times I can jab myself with needles. Thank you Ghilie for this pattern, I'm now among the poppet obsessed. I made my my first poppet out of fleece, the only problem I had was with with the tail, but I think fleece make the cutest noses. She was quite popular when I took her to Scarborough with me.

I told everyone she was a newborn house elf. On the way home I took her to Michael's to find her hair. Nothing at home suited her.
Here she is with hair and her cousin I' made for Mother's day. For the bunny I made the eyes recessed by tying string around the eye.

I tried making a the Easy Peasy poppet Dress, but I can't get it to print at the right scale. I just bought the knit dress for the bunny.
3  CRAFTSTER CRAFT CHALLENGES / Craftster Craft Challenges / Re: Craft Challenge #28 - In The Hot Seat - Due June 1 - June 5 2008 on: May 02, 2008 08:23:12 AM
Since I'm currently living with my in-laws I don't have room for just one more chair... But I was thinking of doing something with my car seats. Does that count?
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: A Yukata made from scratch. If you're my swap partner, don't you dare look h on: May 01, 2008 06:00:26 AM
That's awesome. Where did to find the online pattern? I'm thinking of making a yukata for my poppet.
5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: It's Gangley the Octopus!!! with pics!! on: April 29, 2008 09:33:37 AM
I can just imagine seeing a baby nom-nom-ing on those tentacles.
6  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: Chandelier Mirror on: April 29, 2008 07:24:04 AM
I like it. It's kinda surreal. I'm not much of a mirror person, but that I'd like to have on my wall.
7  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Futurama and Lord of the Rings Amigurumi (pic heavy) on: April 26, 2008 07:07:04 PM
I squealed when I saw Dr. Z! I wish I had the patience to knit and crochet. Those are awesome.
8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Re: Carcassonne baby blanket on: April 22, 2008 08:14:43 PM
That is so neat! I'd like to see an "Animal Crossing" map blanket.
9  FIBER ARTS / Weaving: Completed Projects / Straw-weaved eyemasks on: April 22, 2008 08:01:37 PM
I just started a new job working 3rd shift so I needed new eyemasks. All the store bought ones are too tight so I bought a straw weaver and some nice chunky yarn and made my own. The bridge is a solid strand and then the 'eye flaps' were done separately. I found that starting in the middle was the easiest and nicest looking way.

I let the ends dangle on my first one. The bridge on the nose is a bit odd.

On my second one the bridge is made of two strands and the ends are weaved back into it. It's the most comfortable as it puts pressure on my brow rather than on my eyes.

Your doll reminds me of one of my favorite web comics, Goblins http://goblinscomic.com. The head matches his drawing style perfectly.
