This is my first completed quilt! I took quilting as one of my electives for my last semester of high school. I am so happy to have finished this quilt. =] It uses all Amy Butler fabrics [expensive!] and I'm going to use it as my [one of my] comforters next year when i head off to college in Duluth. Here it is!
So for my grad party I would love to have it be a whimsical theme! I'm graduating high school! WOoo!
I'm not quite sure how to exactly pull it off, but I feel that this verse of Andrew Bird's song Tables and Chairs describes my idea perfectly. You kinda have to listen to it in context, so I encourage pulling it up on youtube. here are the lyrics:
know we're going to meet some day in the crumbled financial institutions of this land there will be tables and chairs there'll be pony rides and dancing bears there'll even be a band cause listen, after the fall there will be no more countries no currencies at all, we're gonna live on our wits we're gonna throw away survival kits, trade butterfly-knives for adderal and that's not all ooh-ooh, there will be snacks there will there will be snacks, there will be snacks.
I've already asked my mom if we can get pony rides... she said no.. sad day. But I just want to capture the whimsicalness of this song. =] I want to have tea cups spoons and watering cans as decorations with the colors being light pink, orange, yellow and possibly blue. If you have any ideas for decorations/food/games etc. it would be much appreciated!
My parents got me an Ashford Elizabeth spinning wheel for my birthday, Its from an antique shop and was a little beat up, but my dad restored it to almost perfect condition. but I'm having some trouble getting it to work right. I've been studying all week on how to spin, and as far as my knowledge I'm doing everything right. But there seems to be a problem with getting the spun yarn onto the bobbin. I just don't know if there is still something wrong with the wheel, or if I'm doing something wrong.
in my drawing class, our homework is to draw people to prepare to draw from models next week. I am having trouble finding subjects to draw. I tried using my friends and they wouldn't sit still for longer than 2 min. I would use my mom but she's not going to be home all week. I don't know where to find anyone to draw... any suggestions?
i leave my hair clips everywhere! and i am always finding them in random places. i need a place to put them. i have tried little drawers, but don't like how unorginized they get. so i was wondering if any of you wonderful craftsters know a way to make a holder for hair clips. from bobby pins to the bendy snap kinds. i was thinking something like an earring holder, but on a larger scale? if you have any ideas at all let me know!
i recently bought a metal water bottle for school. and well, like any water bottle when you put cold water/beverage into it, it gets water condensation on the outside. and so i made a cozy for my water bottle. so, here it is. i don't have much experience in crocheting, so this is my best shot!
