those are great!  we just had our cake consultation today and i quickly insisted on making the cake toppers...i just didn't know if sculpey would work!  now i'm for sure trying it out Smiley

I love the fabric!!! Where did you find it?
Your luggage looks great Cheesy
I'm considering attempting at least a carry-on... then I need to find an excuse to travel!

i got the fabric at ikea.  they had been sold out for FOREVER, but i got  ahold of a few yards as soon as they got a new shipment in.  i went back the other day and they were sold out again, so good luck getting your hands on some!  but it's beautiful, i love it! Smiley

so i'm really excited because i've been wanting to make luggage for a long time and haven't had the chance to.  so i made some last week and thought i'd share it.  the first is a carry on bag, the second is my rolling luggage (need to add the wheels but i know how they'll go on there!  just need to get the bits from home depot.  and the strap detaches in case i need to check it in on the plane).  what do you think?

i found little wedding favor boxes on clearance at walmart (50 for $8!!  sweet!) and now i'm thinking about just using scented tealights (cheaper) and putting those in smaller holders.  i've seen some pumpkin spice ones for the fall season and when they go on clearance i think i'm going to just buy them up.  we'll see if i change my mind by then though!

i went to a few targets around here and they were all sold out of the 2" favor boxes (october is a huge wedding season here in texas), same with at walmart.  i think i may have found some online that i can order in bulk (i think they end up being something ridiculous like $0.04 each) so i might try that out.  now i'm thinking about painting them, but we'll see if i feel that ambitious if i start school in the spring Wink

i'm still debating with the candles if i want to make some or just use the tealights i got at ikea and put them in cute holders.  i didn't think this would be such a big decision!

ok, i had another thread going with my progress but i'm moving it all here so i can get some more feedback and keep track of everything!  this is the original:

i've been talking with our florist and i think i'm going to make beaded fillers for the bouquets and centerpieces (sunflowers and vikings are what we're using) to add some sparkle to it all.

we're doing some type of candle for the favor but i can't decide if i want to melt a few big ones to make several smaller, more interesting candles or what.  has anyone tried this before?  i can't find a size/shape candle i want to use as the favors, but i've found some great candle holders i'd like to add some wax and a wick to..

another thing i'm having a hard time finding is favor boxes.  i want them to be 2" all around, but they're either way too flat or way too big.  i'm starting to wonder if i should get some funky cardstock and make them myself.  has anyone tried this or know of a pattern i could use?  i have almost a year to do all this and i need an excuse to have all my girlies over to do crafty stuff Smiley

omg i'm totally stealing that hair!  well, not the exact hair, but, ya know, the styling Smiley  it seriously made me reconsider a veil for three minutes.  then i remembered how itchy and claustrophobic they make me Smiley

ok, so i finished the save the dates and just ordered them!  we only need about 75, but i bought 90 just because i don't trust my handwriting skills to be perfect.  all 90 only cost me $2.30 on snapfish because i just joined (20 free 4x6 prints) and i got a coupon for 50 prints for a penny each!  i'm super excited about them.  i just think the colors look more like what i had wanted (i didn't want a white background i decided).  oh, and in case you were wondering, no i didn't dump russell for rusty, he was just worried no one would know who he was if he went by his "real" name haha.

also, because i'm crazy excited we got the location i had been wanting, i'll post a pic of it Smiley  it's at this beautiful lakeside resort, but i wanted the country setting wedding package...we're definitely still taking pics by the lake though!

ceremony location (we won't do rose petals and will probably use their arch instead of the columns)

reception location (yep, it's a barn!  i love it!)

so i'm super excited because i found the fabric for my dress!  i found this stuff forever ago and have been spending MONTHS trying to find it again (i've been reallyreallyreally wanting a polkadotesque type fabric.  well, i did! and the best part?  i went there with a friend and bought 1/2 yard (wanted to check it against some white fabric) where the guy quoted me $5.99/yard.  pretty sweet deal, right?  well, my mom came into town that night and decided we should go get all of it the next day since it had taken me so long to find it.  well, the owner was there was almost crapped himself when we told him how much we were quoted.  he honored the $5.99/yard but apparently it was supposed to be closer to $15.99/yard, so we got a steal of a deal!  my camera died so i couldn't take a pic of the design i'm going to do.  it's a mermaid/grecian type of top, a sash at the waist, then a straight aline skirt.  i'll post pics of it when i get my muslin finished, but that won't be for a very long time seeing as how i'm not getting married til oct 3, 2009!  ok, on with the fabric pics:

the fabric fresh off the bolt:

and with some white cotton behind it (oh, i got white sateen to use behind it...wanna know the deal i got on it?  $2 for 10 yards!  yay!)
