why don't you just put a thick border around him. Black at the hand/ shoulder area to cover up the mistake and more of a grey around his hair so it doesn't disappear into the border. aside from the little mistake though, it's adorable. Smiley I would wear it as is to see how many people noticed.

I LOVE this. Particularly with your red shirt, that seems to go really nicely. My sister always thinks the clothes I make are silly looking too, but who cares? It's adorable, and it looks great. I hope you do wear it out and often. Smiley

they are amazing! I particularly love the phoenix, it's stunning. However, my MIL loves mermaids. Any chance you remember where that one came from?

19  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / you are the moon. (image heavy) on: November 23, 2009 06:21:11 PM
A few weeks ago I started working with polymer clay. I made a few little things, but I was running out of ideas, so I told my friends if there was anything they might want I'd try to make it for them. My gorgeous friend Emily asked if I might make her a moon. This combined with my renewed love for the Hush Sound (particularly their song: You Are the Moon: http://www.metrolyrics.com/you-are-the-moon-lyrics-hush-sound.html) and some google searching inspired me to create this:

the original sketch had some hematite stars dangling off the bottom spiral, but it made the necklace too long, so I took them off.

the back has a mirror on it...to go with the song. Part of the reason I think this song is so lovely is because it talks about how the only thing we see are the imperfections (especially this line: The shattered surface, so imperfect, is all that you believe) and I think we forget that even though we notice all the lines on our faces, the freckles, the scars, to someone else that's what makes us perfect. The imperfections make us unique and special and beautiful. I wanted to include a small reminder for when either I or whoever is wearing one of these necklaces that we're beautiful. That to someone else we are the moon. So that's my speech on self-love for today, lol, take it or leave it.

two more in various colors, the one on the right reminds me of a teardrop. I read somewhere that sculpey 3 is not the strongest of polymer clay's (though I'm not sure if it's true or not) so the teardrop might break, but I wanted to experiment.

I like the duality of this. The light and dark of the moon. The surface and the depth. For me, it's very symbolic.

this one has already found a home (I forgot to mention that I made these today. Tongue) and it's definitely going to be the hardest to give away. Luckily I made a cast of the original, so I guess I can always make a copy. Tongue

and me. because I can. ^_^;; this is the original and it has since moved to a longer ribbon (see image #1).

Thank you for your time, c&c welcome, but be gentle it's my first time. Wink
