1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Beginners inchies 3 swap gallery on: May 11, 2012 02:58:25 PM
Ugh.  Life has been so hectic for me lately.  Due to helping my SO move, I've been dead to the internet world for days now.  Of course the one day I was able to upload pics of the inchies I received, I accidentally grabbed the wrong set when going over to the place I am house-sitting for currently  Embarrassed  Now that all the crazy is done, I can finally stop being the worst swapper ever and post the inchies I received from Kimcherry quite some time ago.  They are absolutely wonderful so don't let my delay be any indicator of quality  Wink

First have features some wonderful bird inchies with actual feathers and some absolutely amazing My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic inchies.  The Rainbow Dash one is stunning and Spike is so cute Cheesy

I also received some super cool clay ones.  I loved all of them Kim!  You are one talented crafter!

Received these wonderful inchies from Hoppy yesterday:

It's so hard to pick a fav, but I think the Red-bellied Woodpecker might be it. Smiley  I absolutely love them all and think the fabric one and the one next to it (which is a little book!) are really cool.  Thanks again Hoppy!

I'm glad you like them Kim!  I had a blast making them!

I am kinda curious....  Did you use watercolor pencils are regular watercolors in most of these?  Or am I way off and you used something else completely?

The only one that has regular watercolors is the "As you wish" inchie.  The matroyshka has some regular colored pencil in there at the places I wanted really saturated, the rainbow in the Pink Floyd is normal colored pencils, and the background of the peace sign is actually crayon.  The rest is watercolored pencils, except where it's obviously marker Wink

And Fae, I hope your inchies make them to you soon and didn't get lost in the mail!  I was quite taken with some of the ones I made you and I'd hate for them to be somewhere where nobody can enjoy them

Oh my goodness!  Jmiller made some awesome inchies.  I particularly like the squirrel and killer whale (they were my favorite animal when I was a kid).

All of mine are officially sent out.  I can't wait for people to receive them!

I'm here repping team Kimchery with the wonderful inchies I received from Faemystique!

They're so cute!  The Blue Jay is definitely my favorite, but I love them all!  (The one with the question mark is the deathly hallows in case anyone doesn't know/can't place it.)  Thanks so much Fae!  Can't wait until you get mine Smiley

Those are some amazingly cute inchies so far guys!

With all this trash talk, it looks like I've gotta get on making my last set ASAP Wink

Finished two sets now, though only the one is sent out.  Also received today and will have pics up by Saturday.

I must say I am in love with this swap.  I've tried so many different and new styles as well as using some mediums I haven't in forever.  I'm on a crafting high for sure Smiley

I do have a question...what is the best way to package the inchies for shipping?

I put them all in a piece of paper I folded kinda like a card.  I cut diagonal slits near the corners that were big enough so I could easily slide the inchies in.  This also let me write little notes about them!  Let me know if this sounds confusing, because I can post an example of what I'm talking about.

You don't need paper craft supplies - grab what you have around - a magazine, an old book, print some words off from the computer, business cards tourist leaflets, postcards, grab your paints and texters, coloured pencils, buttons, beads, threads, fabric, Oh and an essential - some glue!

Oh, I'm definitely making do.  Got colored pencils, watercolors, watercolored pencils, crayons, etc.  I just really wish I had some awesome stamps and ink pads and knew where my gel pens are (if I didn't throw them out)!  Mine are just turning out more artsy than collage-y.  They almost remind me of teeny pins, which I like (hopefully my partners do too!)

Speaking of partners, I finished one partner's tonight.  Now on to the next two! Cheesy

I've only made 4 inchies so far and holy moly have I learned a lot already!

1. If only I papercrafted more!  I'm sure my inchies would be waaaay cooler if I had more papercrafting stuff stashed somewhere.

2. I want--no, I *need* stamps!  Unfortunately, I don't have any at all Sad

3. I feel like I'm getting better with each inchie I do!  This is just too fun Smiley

4. Still debating whether to do it person by person or just do what jumps out at me and go from there.  Hmmmm
