1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Calvin and Hobbes Swap Gallery! on: September 01, 2010 12:36:23 PM

shinydemon- I am so glad to hear you like your package, thanks for being such an awesome partner!  I had so much fun!

I do have one last photo for you, the day I packed the crafts for mailing, my friend was over with her dog.  The dog pulled Hobbes out of the box and thus started a long and drawn out battle.  I can only imagine Hobbes' horror in being beaten up by such a small dog...

Haha!  That's so awesome!  Poor Hobbes....

haha I just realized that one of the magnets is upside down in the picture I posted... try to imagine Calvin and Hobbes rolling around on the grass rather than stuck to a green ceiling.   Tongue

Received from tasty_graffiti today!!!!  I almost cried, I kid you not.  This package is so incredible...

Here's a pic of the entire package...

And now some close ups!

First off, a gorgeous Hobbes doll - it looks just like the few glimpses you get in the comics of inanimate Hobbes...

Here's a book-mark with a lovely example of Calvin's table-manners...

My partner paid close attention to my answers to the swap questionnaire - my favourite things about the comic are Calvin's hilarious facial expressions and the philosophical conversations C&H have in the wagon.  And some of my favourite things, period, are fridge magnets!   Here are some magnets of a Calvin photo-session as well as two magnets with beautiful artwork (one featuring the fantastic wagon).

And last, but certainly not least, a beautiful painting of Calvin and Hobbes.  It really couldn't be any more perfect...

Thank you so much, tasty_graffiti !!!

Oooh I really like these! I used to love making these chains...great job!

Thanks!  I think my entire grade 10 year was spent making these chains out of starburst candy wrappers... My sister made a dress out of them - long story.

OH! These are cool!  Shocked Do you make the chains the same way you do with bubble gum wrappers? If so, I'll have to try this!

Yup, exactly the same.  Since I made mine from junk mail, I had to cut the paper to size.  I found 2.5" long and .5" wide worked well (the skinnier strips help cut down on the bulk - way too thick otherwise.  I just folded them in half once, and did the rest of the folding the same as with candy wrappers).

My fiance has gotten at least one package in the mail EVERY DAY THIS WEEK.  I keep thinking, "THIS one will be for me?" My head is set to explode from anticipation!

Oh, thank goodness you like it!!!!  Once I mailed everything off I started to get really paranoid that my package was too small (no pun intended?) and that it was lame and horrible...

The page that I left on my scanner (which is on its way to you now) is a page about El Presidente Hobbes.  It's one of my faves.

Thanks, nooo!

I went to my first trading event on Saturday, and these cards were not popular.  I felt a little bewildered, because I like these ones a lot, but then a few people mentioned that they didn't like taking cards with buttons/bumps/etc. because they can warp other cards when they're in storage.  Lesson learned!

I was using a hole punch for some other cards (here's a link to their thread, if you're interested http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=355353.0 ), and I had some hemp string handy, so I got the idea of putting the hemp and punch to good use for some ATCs.
