1  Pretty Petal Pixie Hat in Crochet: Completed Projects by ConnieStieler on: March 12, 2012 08:01:58 AM
Hello!  Just wanted to share a new hat made for my youngest daughter.  I used the crocodile stitch, bernat satin yarn and some patience!

I used a free pattern found online and some youbtube videos.

also blogged at http://featherwingcrochet.blogspot.com/2012/03/pretty-petal-pixie-hat.html

2  Ravishing Round Ripple Throw in Crochet: Completed Projects by ConnieStieler on: September 13, 2010 11:41:41 AM
My hook has been on fire this past week.  I have finished the round ripple throw for my grandmother.  She had bought a kit from Mary Maxim and asked me if I would make it for her.  She has been knitting and crocheting since I can remember, but for the past year or so she has had some problems with her shoulders and it is preventing her from doing any repetitive motions.  I of course was happy to help her out, that's what being a happy hooker is all about after all!

The colors look pretty dark, my house seems so dreary in photos  Tongue
But I loved the pattern and will be making many more for gifts.

3  Wavy Blanky in Crochet: Completed Projects by ConnieStieler on: September 06, 2010 09:52:01 AM
I haven't posted anything for quite some time, and this has been my reason.  The beast as I call it. It almost covers my queen size bed, I made it for my cousin who is not so fortunate in the crafty department.  It has taken all of my free time lately, and I am so glad to finally be done with it!  But it will be hard to see it go, I have fallen in love with it  Sad

I also added a scalloped edge to the top and bottom edges

more info on my blog,
Free pattern is available here,
thanks for looking!

4  Lattice Hat in Crochet: Completed Projects by ConnieStieler on: February 02, 2010 11:25:40 AM
Last week was sooooo horrible, the full moon makes my kids unbearable and everything else just seemed to fall apart.  Retail therapy was out of the question  Sad  so I made myself a new hat, and that made me feel better  Grin
Me being my dorky self

5  Fan Bookmark in Crochet: Completed Projects by ConnieStieler on: January 23, 2010 08:47:09 AM
I really love working with crochet cotton.  It hurts my eyes to no end, but I love it!  I made this bookmark for my best friend Jen.  We love to read, and always trade books with each other.  So in honor of our last trip to the book store, I made her this awesome bookmark.  I'm making one for myself too.  The pictures do no do this justice at all.  It's so much nicer in your hand, or in your favorite book!

This pic is ultra crappy and I apologize, but it does show the tassel.

6  Hummingbird Applique in Crochet: Completed Projects by ConnieStieler on: January 11, 2010 06:22:26 AM
Just before Christmas my grandmother passed away.  It was hard, but it was for the best.  She was an avid knitter and crocheter her whole life.  I am the only woman in our family that shares her love of yarn, and I wanted to make something for her.  She had always loved hummingbirds, so I started looking on the internet for a pattern.  There was nothing!!! So I found a picture of a hummingbird and started creating.  It fit in the palm of my hand when it was finished.  The picture is dark, but there is a narrow beak on the little birdie.  I plan on making more so I can write down a pattern.

8  Let it Snow! in Crochet: Completed Projects by ConnieStieler on: December 06, 2009 07:39:26 AM
Here's a couple snowflakes I just finished for a friend.  I plan on making her at least 4 more using a different pattern.  I found this particular pattern last year and thought they were very pretty, so I wanted to share with anyone who might be interested in a good pattern Smiley  I haven't starched them yet so they may look a little uneven.  I tend to crochet very tight so luckily I don't need to use a ton of stiffener when I'm done!

Chain Loop Snowflake **My favorite**

Open Loop Snowflake

And here's the pattern link http://www.bhg.com/holidays/christmas/cards/crochet-a-snowflake-gift-topper/
Thanks for looking, happy holidays Smiley

9  Cozy Cabled Mittens in Crochet: Completed Projects by ConnieStieler on: November 28, 2009 11:39:47 AM
Found this great pattern online and had to learn a few new techniques using foundation stitches.  I hope to post a tute on foundation stitches on my blog soon, it's a great method but can be confusing without proper instructions and photos.  The pattern offers instructions for lightweight yarn and for heavier yarns and for many different sizes.

and here is the palm side

there is more info at my blog featherwingcrochet.blogspot.com
and the pattern can be found here
