11  Mega-giant boppy-type thing in Completed Projects by jMisSister on: December 30, 2008 10:23:36 AM
My mother got me a yard of some wolf fleece fabric to make something for my classroom (our school mascot is a wolf) so I decided to make a cushion for our reading area.  The kids love the cushions I have there already and always argue over who gets to use them  so I decided to make a two person boppy-like cushion.
I just free cut it, sewed it up, and stuffed it.  It's pretty comfy and I think my kids will enjoy it.  God knows, my son did!

14  Halloween tree in Halloween Decor and Parties by jMisSister on: November 01, 2008 04:38:49 AM
A few years ago I entered a contest at the bead store that I shop at.  The only rule was that you had to use these orange and yellow beads.  They looked like flowers to me so I decided to make a little graveyard scene.
I used green wire (I wish I had used black) and black, orange, and clear seed beads to form a sparse looking, spooky tree.  It took me WEEKS to spin all the wire by hand!!  Then, I mounted it on a flower pot base, lined that with reindeer grass, cut foam graves, and used the contest-required beads to make little bouquets for the fake dead.  I threw a few skulls in there, too.  I came in 3rd place.   Grin

15  A day late and a dollar short...Haunted House flower pot! in Halloween Decor and Parties by jMisSister on: November 01, 2008 04:27:14 AM
I've been meaning to post this for weeks but better late than never, right??   Undecided

Anyhoo...I saw something similiar in Michaels a few years ago and thought I could recreate it.  Not to shabby...

Sorry about the flash and darkness.

16  Gigantic Work Shirt + Novice Sewing Skills= Awesome New Shirt!! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by jMisSister on: October 05, 2008 07:20:47 AM
On Monday, I had a staff meeting at the school I teach at.  We always do "door prizes" so that the meeting is more fun and I won a size 3x school t-shirt.   Cheesy

I just started sewing so I thought I would try to reconstruct it into something I would actually wear and get some more practice with my skills.  I am really happy with the way it turned out!!  Comments/suggestions??

Action shot!  Ignore the glasses, squinty eyes, and lack of make-up.

Ask and thou shall recieve... Cheesy

A tampon case

A boombox pin cushion ring

Rubix cube patch

"Let's Get Physical" patch

Leopard Tissue holder (with jewels!)

"Pretty In Pink" Purse

Fanny Pack (which I needed for my Halloween costume!!!)

Vintage ET pillow case (I am def. making something out of this!)

AND the pice de rsistance....the "Like A Virgin" Mary!!!

Can I just say that I almost wet my pants when I saw this.  It's hysterical!  She has a fanny pack and a New Kids On The Block T-shirt!!!!!!!!  Her face got a little banged in shipping so I need to fix her up but she is amazing.  I need to find a good place for her in my house.
Thanks again, melyssa_marie.  Everything is great!

18  Re: Once You Pop Rd8 - HALLOWEEN Edition (CLOSED; SENDOUT Sept 27) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by jMisSister on: August 16, 2008 05:25:01 AM
So why do I need a chicken you ask....I have a 10 year old daughter who is a DRAMA QUEEN of epic proportions.
So when she is having one of her moments or melt downs which happens ALOT then I could just go get the chicken lol
And if needed I would just throw it at her  Shocked

Also she has a friend that lives down the street that is just as bad as she is. Her name is Emily but my husband and I call he SATAN....SHE IS THAT BAD!
So that is another reason why I need a chicken lol

So any one know where I can find  one of these "special" chickensso I can put it in my wist  Huh

OK I am done babbling now...I told you my brain had turned to mush  Cheesy

LMAO  Here's your chicken...

Now, as a Special Education teacher AND mother of a 6 year old, I need a chicken also!

As a side note I have to say I am totally jealous that you are all crafting already.  My in-laws are staying in my craft room (now spare bedroom) for 2 weeks so there will be nor crafting for me...unless I move some stuff into the dining room...that may happen!

19  "Dragon" name painting... in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by jMisSister on: August 10, 2008 01:25:28 PM
My son's room got a cool dragon make-over this weekend:  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=262297.msg2941678#msg2941678
Today I remembered that I had an old 12x36 canvas laying around so I painted his name and added a little dragon to the letter A.  This dragon is a little more "cartoony" than the one on his mural but he picked it out and likes it so it's all good to me.
I drew everything free-hand and then painted it all with metalic paints.  After I was done I didn't like that the dragon wasn't popping so I outlined him in black.  Enjoy...   Grin Sorry about the flash glare but the colors were not true to life without it.

Close up...

20  Dragon mural...obese with pics!!! in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by jMisSister on: August 09, 2008 04:12:44 PM
My 6 year old LOVES dragons and wanted a "dragon room" so we decided to paint a mural for him today.  My mother and I drew and painted the dragon and my husband airbrushed all the fine little details.  I think it kicks major booty and so does my son.  Enjoy!
Hubby airbrushing~

Finished mural~

Detail of wing~

Aidan LOVES it!

Aidan wanted to be "barbequed" by his new dragon~
