Details of swap:
For this swap you will make a list of 5 themes for your partner to choose from. Your partner will then choose a theme and create two (2) layouts for you. All items used on the layouts must be acid and lignin free and must have at least one photo mat for a 4x6 photo. You can specify on the questionnaire whether you prefer to swap 12x12 or 8x8 sized pages and Ill do my best to match you up. If youd like to make more than swap requirements please discuss this with your partner. You may want to do a double layout of one theme for your partner or do 2 single layouts with two different themes from their list.
This will be a medium swap.
By Time - Medium = 2 or more hours
By Price - Medium = $10-$30 dollars

Here are some examples of themes you can put on your list: pet, beach, baby, anniversary, teenage, Christmas, marriage/wedding, valentine/love, friendship, vacation, children, Thanksgiving, Halloween, Easter, school, sporting, favorites, Disney, party, grandparent, travel, seasonal, these are just some examples and you can get a bit more specific on your questionnaire.

Here is an example of how to answer your questionnaire on list of themes and titles (if youd like a title on your page)

Themes
1. Baby boy
2. Halloween
3. School
4. Christmas
5. Pet dog

Title ideas:
1.Our Baby Boy, Sweet One, Bundle of Joy
2.Spooky, Trick or Treat, Halloween 2009
3.First Day at School, School Days,
4.Christmas Time, Decorating the Tree,

The rest is in your creative hands. Theres no limit of what to put on the layouts, think paper piecing, rub ons, sewing, stickers, chipboard, punchies,  bling/rhinestones, diecuts, ribbons, eyelets/brads, stamping, painting, doodling etc.
If you have a wist why not add a few of your favourite layouts youve seen to it so your partner can get some ideas of what youd like. If you google scrapbook layouts you will also get heaps more inspiration and ideas.

When sending your layouts to your partner, remember to pack the envelope with a piece of hard card/chipboard to stop it being bent and to put it in some kind of ziplock bag or page protector.

Communication is also important so please post a least once a week in the thread and remember to PM the organizer and your partner when you send and receive. If shipping inside the United States, you must get a DC# and if youre shipping outside the United States you must be able to show a copy of your postage receipt (scanned or photographed)

12  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Completed Projects / Christmas Break 2009 on: December 14, 2009 02:58:45 PM
My other partner has received her layouts for the scrapbook swap, so here are the pics of the double layout. Pretty much all products used on the pages are from My Minds Eye, the title was cut out with my cricut and sure cuts alot. I used stickles to give the title a glittery sparkle. I used the same design/sketch as the NBC layouts I made.

13  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Completed Projects / Nightmare Before Christmas Layouts (3rd layout now added) on: December 11, 2009 10:17:07 PM
I just did the scrapbook swap and one of my partners is a big NBC fan and her fav colours are black and pink so I designed some Jack Skellington paper in photoshop and printed them out and made these layouts for her. I'm not exactly happy with the way the second one turned out, so I'm re-doing another page for her. I will post a pic of it here when she has recieved it. The theme for the swap was christmas so I used my cricut to cut the title on the first page and then cover it with stickles.

The second page:

My second partner hasn't received her layouts yet (they aren't NBC themed) but I will post some pics when she does.

Details of swap:
This is going to be a Christmas themed swap, since send outs will be close to Christmas. It shouldnt cost too much to make 2 pages for this swap so Im classing it as a medium, it really shouldnt cost more than $10-$15 to make.
By Time - Medium = 2 or more hours
By Price - Medium = $10-$30 dollars

You will need to create 2 (two) 8 x 8 inch (approx 20x20cm) scrapbook pages in a Christmas theme to send to your partner. On the layouts you must include  the following:
-   One photo mat to fit a 6 x 4 photo (remember to cut the photo mat slighter larger for a 6 x 4 photo to fit on, I usually make it 1/8 inch bigger on each edge)
-   A journaling spot This can be in the form of a simple journaling block, journaling strips, tags, stamped on, drawn lines (theres no limit here only your imagination) You can make the journaling visible or tucked in a pocket etc
-   All items must be acid and lignin free
-   The pages must measure 8 x 8 inches (approx 20x20cm)

The rest is in your creative hands, you can add more photo mats (remember to let your partner know what size photo to put on the mat if it is smaller and photos need cropping) Theres no limit of what to put on the layouts, think paper piecing, rub ons, sewing, stickers, chipboard, punchies,  bling/rhinestones, diecuts, ribbons, eyelets/brads, stamping, painting, doodling etc.

If you have a wist why not add a few of your favourite layouts youve seen to it so your partner can get some ideas of what youd like. If you google Christmas layouts you will also get heaps more inspiration and ideas.

17  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Discussion and Questions / Scrapbook Challenge on: October 16, 2009 04:23:36 PM
Anyone interested in a scrapbook challenge? I'm not sure if theres anything like this going atm.

I was thinking the first challenge could be a halloween themed scrapbook page (since it's almost halloween) and anyone who wanted to participate could upload a pic of their layout to the scrapbook gallery before a certain date, I'd then pick a layout as the winner of the challenge (or we could take a vote) and send a small prize to the winner.

Let me know what you think.
18  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Scrapbook Swap - 8 x 8 inch pages on: September 13, 2009 08:07:55 PM
I was wondering if anyone would be up for a scrapbook swap? To keep costs low (it would be international), we could scrap two 8 x 8 inch pages for our partner (make it a double layout or two single page layouts) so they can just add their photo & journalling etc after receiving it.

I was thinking we could base the first theme just around our own style of scrapbooking, then maybe we could do an xmas theme one etc after that.

If there is something already like this going let me know! If there is enough interest I might start this one up.

Any other thoughts or ideas are welcome  Grin

19  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Day of the Dead Embroidery & Skull cupcake on: July 24, 2009 01:31:44 PM
Okay I know there are other Day of the Dead embroiderys of this pattern from Urban Threads here that are far better than the job I did, but just had to post some pics as this is by far the biggest embroidery I've done to date. Some of the stitches are little wonky and it's the first time I've done satin stitch as well. But overall I'm pretty proud of it. I made it for my swap partner in the newbie swap I just did.

I also had trouble getting the hoop marks out before framing it and was wondering if anyone had any tips on that. I'm hoping in time being stretched in the frame it will kind of flatten out itself. Anyway onto the pics:
closeup:

and in the frame

I love skulls and cupcakes so I made this for myself awhile back:
