This was a little beat up wooden jewelry box that I gave a face lift. I made it into a festive little piece using origami paper and little paper lantern embellishments. Let me know what you think!

This was a plain black frame that was lying around on my floor, getting kicked out of the way for about a year. I finally got up the gumption to do something with it and here's the end result. I made one similar to this with striped paper for a christmas present, but was stupid and didn't get any Pics. This one has a matching background with a fabric flower accent and a vintage button center.

This was such a beat up old jewelry box that my boyfriend was going to throw away...but real wood anything is so hard to come by these days that I snatched it up and waited until an idea came to me. So it eventually did and I decided to paint it a light mint green color and decoupaged the rest.

I'm so sick of snow and freezing rain. I decided to make some tropical barrettes to cheer me up. And of course I had to throw vintage buttons in the mix..because I have issues...

A few are made from embosses paper flowers and others are from silk floral arrangements that I've taken apart and mix and matched.

I got really sick of having my needles scattered all over the place so I decided to make a holder for them. I used the pattern by in the back of the first Stitch 'N' Bitch book. I just used several cute fabrics that I had laying around. Incidentally this is also my first real finished sewing project other than a pillow case. Feeling a bit accomplished here.

I get really sick of the traditional christmas decorations...so I decided to make a tree of my own that incorporated one of my favorite things in the world...vintage buttons...



And what tree is complete without a chicken topper??



I'm a weirdo..i know...

I made these 2 hats for Christmas presents. The one on my head is for my sister who is battling cervical cancer. She hasn't lost her hair from her treatments, but if they have to do more she might, so I felt a snuggly hat might be a good present. The second hat was actually my first attempt (I made the pattern up as I went) and it came out too small...so it's going to my boyfriend's niece who is 5. Let me know what you think!

These little guys are seriously ticked off...but i guess I can't blame them for having pins shoved in their face all day...

I knitted this cap using the Cabled Newsboy Cap pattern from Stitch 'N' Bitch Nation but instead of Blue Sky Worsted Yarn, I used Sensations Angel Hair Stripes. Sorry...I couldn't find the label so I'm not sure exactly which dye lot it was. It came out a little bigger than I anticipated but the change in yarn works well if you want to knit a cap for dreds or just tucking really long hair up into.

I apologize for my ridiculous facial expressions...I just couldn't keep a straight one

 







I'd love to know what you think or if anyone has tried this pattern with a different kind of yarn.
