2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Friendship Granny Square Swap R12 Gallery on: May 14, 2009 08:17:25 AM
Gee, I had no idea it would take so long to send something to Canada!  I mailed my package on April 29 . . . !

I love all the colors for everyone's squares.  Inspiration for 10 more blankets!

I have been waiting a few days for the rain to stop here, so the light would be better for photos . . . but it looks like it's going to keep raining for another week here in Maine! So, without further ado, my beautiful five squares from whisp3rd. The green is brighter in reality--I asked for bright pinks and greens, and I love them all. Thanks so much!

Also, the US Post Office will ship you flat rate boxes, packing tape, and customs forms to use for soldiers if you call and request them. It is free to have them shipped to you, and it's $12 to ship them to your soldier.

I found this out from the website I posted earlier, and indeed, the USPS sent a whole kit to us, rather speedily.  You simply need to call the USPS and request them.
5  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Friendship Granny Square Swap R12 (Apr) signups 4/1-4/8, sendouts 4/30 on: April 09, 2009 12:50:25 PM
I'm very excited to get yarn this weekend, so I can crochet like mad during my flight to California for vacation next week!

(They'll let crochet hooks on US airplanes these days . . . right?  I mean, it's not like they're pointed, like needles, or anything!)

Yay, I made the sign up deadline this time!
7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Easter / Re: Pysanky and other eggs- Post your pics here! on: March 28, 2009 10:27:22 AM
I have saved dyes from year to year in glass jars with very tight sealable lids. I did find that some of the colors were more prone to developing mold in them (yellow was especially moldy).  While I do try to save all the dyes, in the end there are always several colors I just have to remake every year

It's been a crazy past few weeks, but I finally sat down a few evenings in a row and finished my package for Spencertwins2007.  I put it in the mail yesterday (reg first class), so hopefully you should get it next week! (Boo for Sundays that interrupt mail service!).

What a cutie pie! I love the expression on his face, and the gorgeous colors.  Nice work!
10  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Cowboy Rag Quilt in Blue, Green, & Brown on: March 22, 2009 05:23:36 AM
I just used regular cotton.  The seams still frayed very nicely.

I'm sure you could find charm squares in flannel, too, but there seems to be a greater variety available for the cotton layer cakes and charm packs.
