This was one of my very first completed cross-stitch projects. Before I even realized why stitching from the middle of the fabric is much better than starting at the end 
Anyways, I finally came up with this solution so I could finally show off my work. Iron-on backing is my new best friend!
The Marilyn pattern came from CrossStitcher magazine, and the plaid background was my own doing.

My daughter's second birthday is December 13th, but I'm gonna try my damndest to make it!

I'm new to the area and have yet to discover any local craft shops, aside from the obvious chain stores. If any knows of one I'd love to know about it!

Sorry I didn't reply before! Between the move and my ridiculous computer I haven't had a chance until now.
ANYWAYS, we ended up moving to Bradenton, and since I have a toddler that hates long car rides, Tampa is a little too far for me right now. However, I would love to meet up with anyone in the Bradenton area or that doesn't mind coming out here!

This is beyond gorgeous! I especially love the panel in the back that ties it all together very nicely.

So I will be moving to the Tampa area in August from Tennessee. Currently, no one around where I live crafts (except for old ladies quilting, which is cool too, but you know what I mean...) and I definatly want that to change when I move! I need crafty friends! SO if there is any sort of local craft scenes or anyone that would live to meet up, let me know, please!
(My favorite craft is embroidery, but I dabble in everything...)
