1  V. bright kitchen curtains in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by Rorbot on: January 14, 2009 03:32:41 PM
I made some curtains to block the view of my neighbour's RV but still let in the sunset. Also they hide the blinds Wink

2  Old mirror frames to new (faux) headboard ! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Rorbot on: January 13, 2009 11:51:14 AM
So this project solved two of my dilemmas. One, what to do with the frames leftover from broken mirrors. And second, what to do for a headboard. My husband is really tall, too tall for a foot board, so i'm stuck with just the headboard. But I had bought a bunch of vinyl  at thrift stores purposely for crafting with and decided these records were meant to be my headboard.  any way I'd like to know what y'all think Smiley

3  Mirror mosaic, abstract flower in Glass Crafts: Completed Projects by Rorbot on: January 13, 2009 11:28:11 AM
So this was my first mosaic I did with mirrors. It is of a flower. It as initially the door of a small cabinet, but it made it very front heavy, so I took it off, and will now hang it on the wall when my husband rigs it up for me. Hope you like Smiley

4  Super swingin' skirt to super rad art in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Rorbot on: January 12, 2009 06:41:31 PM
I  bought this skirt at a thrift store when I was in high school because it was just too awesome to put back on the rack. it was like a size I dunno, hamster. But i really loved the material. A few years ago i made this from it. I LOVE it. Smiley The frame isn't my fave. Maybe a super shiny dark turquoise or cherry red??? any input??? Thanks!

5  OOh matchy matchy!!! coffee table and chair, lots of pics in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by Rorbot on: January 12, 2009 06:23:59 PM
I found this chair in dumpster of eternal gifts that was across the alley from my old apartment, the table I bought at a thrift store for not more that 15$ I'm sure. I speak in the past tense because these are both older projects, old enough that the chair has been re-recovered. (don't use white fabric, and then, when recovering, don't use corduroy if you have cats)
Nonetheless, a project is a project. The table is detailed with a smaller piece of fabric, modpodged on (though I wouldn't recommend, there are bubbles that are interfering with the surface finish of the tabletop) over top of that i used resin and sparkles!!!!!! Its brilliant! The pictures do not do it justice at all. Since the picture I painted the yellow parts glossy black and we can all nod our heads in agreement how good that looks.  The chair, was fine before, just a boring, office chair.

6  Mosaic Mirrors with Colorful Grout in Glass Crafts: Completed Projects by Rorbot on: January 12, 2009 05:59:36 PM
This year in the Christmas draw on my side of the family I drew my brother's gf and my hub drew my bro. Sweet. Sweeter still we ( meaning my sister) decided this year we would make presents for each other. Rad. My brother and his sweetheart of a girlfriend took a trip to Hawaii this past year, so I decided I would make a mural of a beach scene for them. Complete with sunset and palm trees. I paint, but I really like to smash mirrors and make mosaic from them. To avoid 7 yrs bad luck, I use previously broken mirrors I scavenge from yard sales and alleys :p So I glue down the mirror, grout, then paint the grout. My husband made the frames, and the hanging mechanism. They were well received Smiley

Sorry for the objects in front of the mosaics, this is the only photo in existence!!! I hope this post works...
